When you get old, you better not complain about not getting a discount.

The second I turn 90, my mindset will be, "I'm 90 years old I've bought enough shite, it's time for some free action."

I'm not obnoxious about it but I ask about discounts on certain things, I'd be crazy not too, in my line of work we get serious discounts, and freebies, on just about anything related to the travel industry

I have a relative who is extremely wealthy who takes pride in getting meals for free by complaining even if there’s nothing wrong with them. Apalling

Wendy's Senior Discount policy is a free drink or coffee. My dad gets his free "senior coffee" every time he goes there.

why you hanging out at the barber shop every day?

It was common knowledge. If you passed by between 1115AM-12PM his old lincoln was there. Since my barber would close for lunch between 12PM-1PM, the old man liked to go there then because he knew there wasn't going to be as much traffic, people coming in and out, etc.

And if the paper was a little out of shape, a few wrinkled edges, a torn page, etc. He would get mad and tell my barber he needs to start watching out to see who does all that nonsense.

She asked if she could have a drink, she didn't demand it like she was entitled to it.

Hell, if I were getting discounts all the time I'd ask too, they can't say "Yes" if you don't.

Because so many companies cater to them...maybe some places are like "Sure, have a free drink. Good job on staying alive so long".

Wendy's Senior Discount policy
Herein lies the answer to the OP question.

Many companies PROMOTE giving discounts and freebies to old people.

Got a problem with it? Go get you one of those "speak to the manager" haircuts and actually speak to the manager.

I didn't much think about it, but I've encountered this.... an older friend of mind said it's worse among older white women with this sort of stuff, they feel entitled
