Find another "challenge" that doesn't involve losing your life. Seriously, I think people who do that shite are just begging for attention and bragging rights "if" they survive and live to tell about it.

How about you train for an Ironman or something that you don't have a huge chance of dying or failing.

I think people who attempt Everest are idiots.

This may be you.

I wouldn't do it, but the odds aren't that high. There are thousands who climb some form of it each year, about 650 who summit, and 5-8 who die.

Not in January. Completely different set of statistics then.

You could have picked a less obvious troll... January avg temp is like -35 and Jan - March is the windiest part of the year.

It seems like I remember reading or seeing on a documentary that 100% of the people who summit lose either fingers, toes, ears, or all to frostbite.

Am I delusional in remembering this? I need all of my digits, so no thanks.

How does one frick up a troll intended to keep us somewhat interested for months get rolled by page 4 of the set up thread? What a moron.

Not necessarily. You insulted by it, or something?

Yes, of course. Slightly less so than this silly Everest stunt. At least with the bowl of ice cream, I'm not paying several others to risk their lives with me, while likely putting themselves at much more risk than myself.

Nope. That's never really been one of my hangups at all.

Buddy of mine from B'ham is making his fourth attempt this April. Last three times there was a fist fight in his tent, an avalanche, and a major earthquake/avalanche. Fourth time is the charm for him as he goes for the record books.

Numbers are way off. 800 per year attempt. Meaning they start at base camp. Less than half that get to the point of reaching camp IV in hopes of a summit.
