The human population on Puerto Rico is roughly 3.6 million. Since their release in the wild in the 1970's, iguanas have circled the island and are now moving inward with a population of 4 million strong.

I don't know if she was from Puerto Rico, but a girl I once worked with used to tell me about the times when she and her brothers would run around shooting iguanas out of trees with a slingshot and eating them.

I worked with a guy from Puerto Rico and he told me the same thing. He asked me if he could buy Iguanas in America, I said yeah why you want one as a pet. He said no I want to eat them.

How, exactly, are they going to take over?

Puerto Ricans aren't very bright, they'll probably start by taking their jobs.

They actually do. I went to a little local place in Honduras and they made iguana stew. You had to watch bc they just threw the whole iguana in there so there were bones and shite, but it tasted like chicken

It's pretty much the same thing here in KW. They are everywhere and they are nuisance. I've had to fish them out of my pool 1k times. They lay so many eggs at a time and have no real predators.
