Yes! This is my top recommendation and hope to do it when we remodel our bathrooms.

We added outlets at the top of our mantle in case I want lighted garland or something else.

I would put high outlets in closets or the laundry room, wherever vacuums/appliances are hung to charge.

I’ve never priced them but I love the hidden/pop up outlets in the kitchen.

I can’t think of others specifically but I would add more than I need and floor outlets under furniture if possible. I can’t stand for cords to show.

Oh - and science is inventing hair devices you haven’t thought of. Load the Queen of the House’s bathroom with double bangers like crazy.

Well well well, aren't you just the cat's meow. Check out mr. Fancy pants that designed his own house! Did you just post in the thread so you could tell us you designed your own house, you insufferable bastard?

NO offense.

Several dedicated circuits for the kitchen. We put outlets on both ends of the kitchen island that each have their own circuit. Running a stand mixer and the toaster oven will pop a circuit with a quickness if they are on the same run. Try to think of where you might put any portable appliance. network cables in the kitchen are a good idea as well. More and more items are becoming "smart". Not all USB jacks are built the same. Some are as slow as Christmas charging anything. Like others have said, more in closets, laundry room and bathrooms will help as well.

always the garage plus the attic, no one ever thinks about it but if you do any work up there you need plugs for things.

lastly is the 4 corners of the house all need exterior plugs and i would add switched plugs on the eves for exterior lighting and christmas lights

I would definitely have a USB port in every couch frame and bed frame.

And outlets on each side of the bed. That was a HUGE one when we rewired.

Hardwire everything you can.
Wise words. Every TV and computer port I have is hard wired. I hid the cable ports in the LR behind a false wall to hide them also

I'd add two to entrance/foyer for sure. We have a set of stairs to finished basement and set to second floor. Neither of them have an outlet on the landing, stupid oversight. I'd add one to the outside entrance. We currently have one and I'd like to have one on each side of the door. I would also add more outlets to the garage.

I'd run conduit in our yard to a few places with a stub up for lighting or cord usage. My last house had outlets along my back fence and front flower beds that were great for Christmas decorations and eventually a security floodlight. I'd put them outside along your house all over, add USB outlets next to night stand locations and in kitchen in a few spots.

In the bathroom where your wife uses a hair dryer and straightener, I'd put an outlet in a drawer or under cabinet so the cords don't have to go across the sink which usually happens.

Definetly a lot more outside - in the soffits and closer to the ground

More in the garage

USB ones near every bed and a couple in living room

in the kitchen, put them under the cabinets, not on the backsplash... my shite looks really nice with white subway tile and no outlets on it....

also, on the side of the island, under the lip of the surface of the island... my island is 9x5, so it helps to have that outlet there for anything i may need to plug in and have a lot of surface to work with....

in the bathroom, i'd put an outlet under the knee space where your wife will have a vanity... not necessarily to hide them from the wall, but just to have that extra outlet to plug all her shite into...

We designed our house and tried to think of everything. The one thing we forgot was the need for power in the landscaping for Christmas lights and stuff like that. So I ended up running wire to a few places out in the yard for the wife's displays. Not a big deal but wish I didn't have to be the one out trenching and burying wire.

The other thing is in certain places it would've been better to have 4 plugs instead of 2.

When i built my house, we met with the electrician before he started work. He said he doesn't usually go by the plans but would rather meet with the owners and see what their needs are. We walked through each room and talked about where we wanted/needed outlets and switches. He had some very good recommendations on locations that we are very happy with.

Did not see it mentioned so outlets for under cabinet lighting.

The in drawer outlet was a great idea.

False bottom to the upper cabinets in the kitchen to house lighting and outlets so they aren't on the backsplash.

How about giving her a power strip where they can all be plugged in and then the whole thing turned off. All those potential frayed cords would be safer turned off. And it would be easier on the wall plugs rather than in and out seven or more times a week.

I think the one change I'd make is more rooms with plugs up on the walls (kitchen like) rather than low and behind things. And less prone to minor flooding.

I just added one close to our toilet in the master bathroom. Added a bidet with heated seat. Best thing we've done to the house other than the pool.
