Agreed, it should go away. In the meantime, maybe don't yell it out to your buddy as you arrive at your quiet suburban home after a night of drinking. It kinda makes you look like a racist retard and you deserve some backlash for it.

I don’t see how it makes him look racist at all

That makes him look like a trashy wannabe that likely tries to act super cool when he is actually in front of black people. The guy seems like a total poser

Not even a little bit? A white dude yelling out a racial slur isn't at least partially racist? If it quacks like a duck...

He is using it to talk about his other White friend. I truly don’t see how this is racist. Trashy and cringey absolutely

For years now it has been such a common word used in pop music & film that isn't a racial slur any more, no matter how hard some people try to make it one. It's no different than punk or dude or chick... It's just not.

Watch this, and remember this is over 5 years ago before this shite got completely out of control:

Steve Harvey on apologizing

Steve gets it, he said what they wanted him to say but he didn't mean it and neither did they, its all BS.

Morgan Wallen isn't racist because he gets f*cked up as a soup sandwich and smack talks his buddies in the driveway at 2am. He's just a shitty neighbor and his neighbors got revenge, and probably got a nice check from TMZ while they were at it.

It is a racial slur, no matter how hard some people try to make it not one. Feel free to walk into a room full of black people and use it liberally. Let me know how that works out for you.

Seen it, love Jerry's show. Steve played the game that his sponsors required him to play. Mr. Wallen doesn't have the kind of star power needed to ride this out. Is he a racist? I doubt it. But he did use a racist slur in a dumb way and is paying the price. It is what it is.

They've decided that they have power over whiteys that use quite possibly the most popular word in their own vernacular. It's silly. I mean I'm more that willing to let them have it, it doesn't affect me at all.

I’ve dropped so many n-bombs alone in my car while listening to Weezy growing up. Hope my employer and Twitter doesn’t find out.

What’s crazy is I bet Wayne wouldn’t even GAF. He loves his fans and knows they love him and repeating a lyric or using it as slang is different than directing it at someone with ill intent. The “it’s our word” crowd is holding the ground regardless tho.

Which is the worst possible thing he could have done. You NEVER apologize to these people

I don’t know, the people that really care about this and want him “canceled” over it probably don’t listen to him or country music. If an apology gets it out of the news quickly, those people will move on and he can get back to doing whatever he was doing before.

Now the question is will his fans stop listening to him for apologizing? We know some people here probably would, hell they probably want him to start saying the fun word even more

i mean. he can could say frick it and double down. i'm not sure the outcome would change.

regardless, he won't stand up to it. he's already apologized and they are doing everything in their power to ruin his career, cancel him, and basically disappear his existence. Good Morning America spent a 15 minute segment on it and even had a random black girl country music fan on to talk about how toxic country music is as a whole. so one dude drops the n word while drunk off his arse and now ALL of country music is raciss? come the frick on.

think this dude's music sucks or not. cancel culture is getting out of control at this point. the political side of the aisle using it, the Left, will force everyone to bend the knee to their will or ruin them. Evergreen State College is the classic example. Brett Weinstein is liberal as they come, so is anyone remotely involved in that college, but because he didn't bend the knee to a bunch of irrational emotional cry baby students.....he was run off. You are seeing the same thing play out in the open society in America now with Twitter. the only way to stop it is for corporations to stop reacting to it and to ignore it. remove money from the equation and it'll have less of an effect on society.

I booted the Saints after the Jacob Blake tape on the helmet move that Brees pulled. I knew then it was all about the last year and the money for him and a frick you to most of his fans. When I heard he threw 3 ints in that playoff game, I knew then karma is a real bitch. So deserving.

He apologized and still got dropped by everyone, but yes, if he fought back in support of being able to drop the N word, that would do wonders for his career

Right, that's the play.

The posters saying to double down and fight back and that his popularity would skyrocket are pretty out of touch here, to say it nicely.

Sadly, Nashville has many more bro-country artists waiting in line for his spot. His career may not recover.

So if a black person says it to a black person its a racial slur? If its 100% a racial slur no one should be able to say it, no different then saying Fa***t.

Or, its only a racial slur if its meant to be a racial slur.

For 2021, sure he has to apologize for a quick recovery. But the idea he won't ever recover if he doesn't apologize is absurd.
