If You Were Accused Of A Crime And Couldn't Afford A Lawyer....

Let's say you are accused of a crime you didn't do and you couldn't afford a lawyer, would you feel just as confident having a PD lawyer representing you as you would if you could hire the average lawyer?

A PD probably won't even know my name, so no.

I used a PD before. He was better than a paid lawyer.

What a stupid question. I wouldn't have much of a choice, would I?

Make a big enough scene about it and Gloria Alred would represent you for free.

A lot of the people that cant afford lawyers plead out to time served. Thats because they never make bail and its easier to make a plea and get out immediately with a record rather than waiting years for a trial locked up.
It also puts less work on the DA as he never has to go to court if he can wait out the defendant long enough, while boosting his conviction stats.

And how do you know a private defense attorney is not going to take your money and do minimal/crappy work?

I’d just leave. Public attorneys are so overworked and backed up, you’d be better just reprsenting yourself.

Have my Wife perform sexual favors for the lawyers fees.
My cousin got out of a bunch of shite, when His mothers friend fricked the lawyer. No costs, and he got out of all of the trouble.

Had a hard headed buddy represent himself in a dwi case here in BR. An attorney was listening in on his case in court and stepped up out of nowhere to represent him right then. Charges were dropped

These are the type of answers I look for. Thank you,

Seriously, I know someone who refused to get a lawyer for a DWI case. Evidently someone told him that since it was his first DWI the judge would just throw it out and ended up getting his drivers license suspended for I think 6 months.
I don't understand why some people think they don't need a lawyer in any type of legal situations.

for DWIs in BR, you dont really need a lawyer
its a money grab and thats it

I was suspicious of a murder years back and had to get a lawyer. Craziest experience I have ever had. The lawyer helped me in ways I could have never done without him
Get one if you are even a suspect. Dont say shite to the police until you do.
