Good question. But it’s impossible to social distance on a subway, so they have a serious problem on their hands.
What’s the point of social distancing while at work if you catch the virus on your ride in?

So if we are NEVER going to close the mass transit system (subway) that is the most rapid spreading vehicle that a virus will have access to - then we will NEVER contain the virus.

The subway isn’t rapidly spreading the virus right now. It did at the onset. Shutting it down now would just make it impossible for essential workers to commute in.
That study is the epitome of having a conclusion and finding the data you want to back it. The number of new cases shouldn’t flatten out the same day ridership drops drastically. Technically it should continue up for another week or two.

Too late now but they should have limited the access points/entries to the subways and only allowed in essential workers --those with hospital photo IDs or essential-business-issued ID.
