What do the numbers look like of we arbitrarily remove 30 million people from the the least affected areas? Seems disingenuous af either way.

My industry is starting to get stressed, but we have 60% of our work force able to WFH, at least in the short-term. I oversee teams in 6 different countries, all of which are handling the present problem differently, but the company is taking a very conservative approach to our handling policies over and above what the local governments are mandating.

We still do go to the office. But we rotate it every week so that the desks aren’t too packed

Exactly. If you just remove California, the US death rate is 140 per million. Thank god for them.

They have some sort of excuse. I hear they are superior in every way to us, mostly by them saying so.

Do you have an argument against the idea that removing some daily interactions slows the spread more than removing none? If so, we can clear that up, too.

I imagine that if a city like Lincoln, Wichita, Denver, or Kansas City were getting hit like NY/NJ a good portion of the country would start taking it more seriously.
No one took it seriously because they thought it would only affect China. It moved out of China.
Then no one took it seriously because there were only a few hotspots in Asia and Europe. It came here.
Then no one took it seriously because it had only wiped out a nursing home. Then it spread elsewhere.
Now no one takes it seriously because it's only in the big population centers.
So it's going to take Lincoln or Wichita getting hit to end the denial? Seriously?

New York has weekly conference calls among health care officials on stopping the spread of the flu virus almost year round. Months before anyone on the OT even knew Covid exist. They jumped in this much earlier than anyone else.
They are just screwed because they are densely populated cosmopolitan city that depends on mass transit with huge ties to Europe and China.
Most of this country is going to get Covid-19 over the next 18 months, probably over 10 million already have. That’s simply what’s going to happen no matter what we do
