re: If you leave your car parked at a gas pump after filling up and go inside

I specifically try to park at a pump, regardless if I'm getting gas or not. For one simple reason, I don't want my truck getting dented by some trashy POS getting out of his beaten down Saturn, or someone's clueless child swinging the car door open with zero care. If it pisses anyone off, they can go suck a dick. I had to get at least 5 car door dings fixed on my last truck because people don't give a frick about damaging someone else's shite. Having my truck smacked into by someone else's door pisses me off much more than you having to wait 5 minutes to get gas.

The real assholes are the ones who park at the pump just to go inside. Never get gas at all.

I don't know where y'all are getting gas. Post-storms and the start of Covid are the only times there have been a shortage of pumps in my 47 years on earth.

They are late and getting gas at 8:00 am or at 5:15 pm. It is the only explanation.

My standing policy is to fill up, and, if I need or want to go in, I pull into a parking space. This the courteous thing to do.
If it isn't busy, then I don't care one way or the other, but I'm reminded of an incident at a popular gas station off the interstate (not Buccees but similar) near Tyler, TX years ago. Pumps were slammed yet there were a half dozen or so parking spaces unoccupied. Management got on the PA and asked those who were done filling up to please pull into a vacant parking spot. Made all the damn sense in the world. It's not necessary 100% of the time but read the room. Things go a lot smoother if you do.

Many times, I pump, then leave my car, and enter the store to look around to see if there is anything worth buying. I usually take my time. Many times, I leave without buying anything.

You could move your car into an actual parking spot and then enter the store.
And if someone pulls up and starts pumping gas before I can get a receipt?

The worst are the Costco people that finish and take 5 minutes to leave when there are 4 cars waiting. People are so self absorbed
This is bad, but what is really aggravating is the people who just sat in line at Costco and pull up to the pump and act like they are surprised that they are at a gas station.
Why the hell don’t they already have their Costco Card and credit card ready. They had 10 minutes to dig in their purse while they waited in line. Smh.

If there are limited pumps and people waiting I'll definitely move before going inside. If there are plenty of open pumps then I don't see the point in moving.

Hey do your job and put the damn paper in the receipt machine so I do not have to walk in to get the receipt for fueling on my business card a-hole!

It depends. If it's slow and there are plenty of pumps open (assuming you aren't blocking the only diesel, ethanol free or E85 pump) then i think its ok to run in if you'll be quick. Crowded or you want to go dick around for a while, you need to move that shite into a parking spot to get your diabetes treats.

I dont understand the big deal. Just put the car in park and wait. Play on your phone for 5 minutes or something that’s what I do. Of course I make sure to not be in a hurry anytime I go to the gas station. If you wait until you’re late for work and on empty to get gas, that’s on you.

Agreed. Also, if pumps are open and a gas vehicle chooses to use one of the few diesel pumps….
