8 AM
ETA: I'd be annoyed at a 8AM or 12PM meeting

I agree with everyone who said it’d make way more sense for whover’s doing the invite to say we’re moving the meeting ‘earlier’ to x time.. but that wasnt the question; the question was what if they used the word forward.. and the fact that we’re 5 or 6 pages deep without everyone and their mother realizing that the correct answer is 8am, is … to be expected in the dumbed-down USA in 2022, i guess .

It's 8
Moving it back would be noon
Moving it back would be noon

A much better way of putting it, but I would always put the actual new meeting time and day so there is no confusion no matter what was used in front of it.

I’d say move it up to 8 am

Don't be a beta. Refuse the unclear time and say you have another obligation, then suggest either 8AM or noon.
If the response is "I meant noon(or 8)", reiterate you have another obligation and suggest 2PM.

If you think the answer is straightforward, then you need to explain why the meaning of "forward" and "back" in time flip flop depending on whether we're talking about the past or the future. Why do "move the meeting back" and "go back in time" mean moving opposite directions on the timeline?

I say noon. She says 8.
You are wrong
The "For" in forward as in beFORe 10am
noon would be "afterward",or after 10am

It's quite simple. Everyone knows that when one moves a meeting back, it's later. I don't think anyone is disagreeing with that.
In this context, anything not "back", is opposite (aka: forward), which is earlier. So, the person is not moving it back. They have to be moving it "up", which by definition is earlier.

Are you moving the big hand or little hand on the clock?

The point is everyone is calling it simple even though we use "back" and "up" instead of "forward". The real question is why do we use "back" to mean "later" but when we "fall back" we move the time earlier. And if a time machine would take you forward in time it would take you to a later time.

That's a fair argument/statement.

Moving it UP twohours means 12 noon
Moving it DOWN two hours means 8 am
Moving it DOWN two hours means 8 am

One of the most confusing language barriers is when talking about time.
Bring forward
Move back
Ahead
Behind
Next Saturday
Not to mention time zones and not all countries move (at the same time)
India is on the :30 when rest of world is top of hour
I would interpret “move it forward” to be sooner….fwiw

I wouldn’t use the word forward but probably synonymous with “UP” so 8am. Moving it back would be noon
