I am hearing impaired but it is not on my license. I have not been pulled over in quite some time but I have in my phone a "note" that explains that. I am happy top provide my license, registration and proof of insurance but in most instances thats all I will do other than signing the citation.

Exactly. All this hard core “don’t answer a question and assert your rights!” is all fine if you’re accused of a real crime but it’s bad advice for a traffic stop. I’ll just earn you a ticket guaranteed.
Yes I’m a lawyer.
Been a while since I actually got a ticket (knock on wood) but have gotten a couple warning for simply being respectful.
Someone can not answer those basic questions and get a ticket all they want. I'd prefer to answer some dumb question to appease a cop and be off with a warning though.
Got off one a few years ago and the cop thanked me for saying yes sir. he said you don't hear that much anymore and he appreciated it.

I haven't been pulled over much in my life but every time I have I've turned the car off, taken the keys out of the ignition and put them on the dash where they're seen, put my license on the dash, and put my hands on the wheel before they even approach the window. I have over a 90% success rate with getting off with a warning. People have said I'm a "bootlicker" because I guess being a courteous person and not trying to pull some "I know my rights" shite isn't badass enough or something.
Think about what a cop deals with on a day to day basis. They often deal with the dregs of society, everyone online hates them, and they may get killed that day on their next callout. Simply putting them at ease as they approach the vehicle and speaking to them like a human goes a loooooong way in getting a favorable outcome.

I even roll the back windows down in my truck because they always want to check for any surprises in the back seat. Just never leave a door open if they ask you to exit the vehicle.
I still do this part above but have stopped rolling either window down fully - about halfway, but enough for them to clearly see into the vehicle, mostly so they can see there's no one lurking in the backseat at night. But agree with the rest of your post.

I always tell them that I’m driving from El Paso to Atlanta.

"Officer, here is my license, registration, and proof of insurance. I am going to exercise my right not to answer any of your questions, am I free to go?"
Like, as soon as he’s handing the cop the licenses, he asks if he’s free to go? How does that not come off as dickish?
I mean sure, I hear them on Rodriguez v. United States but if I’m actually dealing with a cop that’s looking for someone to be a problem, responding like this just to avoid telling him I’m going to the UPS store doesn’t seem like a winning move.

Cop: Evening, Sir, we are conducting a license check, do you have your driver's license?
Me: Yes, Sir. Hands him license.
Cop: Where are you headed tonight?
Me: I'm just heading home.
Other Cop: You know your tag expires this month.
Me: Yes, Sir, I need to get her inspected and pay the registration. It's on my to do list this week.
Cop: Hands me license. Drive safe, Mr Alfonzo.
Me: Have a good night.
Is there a difference from what you replied to what I would reply?

No, I don't see any difference there. Was that something you posted in here? I didn't read this thread, I just posted what happened last night almost verbatim. This was out in the sticks on Highway 27, heading east away from Charlotte. The whole stop took probably less than a minute.

No, but some would argue that I would be "rude" and guarantee myself a ticket.

Got pulled over last week for going 40 in a zone that was reduced to a 35 mph speed zone four days prior to this stop. Cop was asking a number of questions such as where i was coming from, where i was going, what i do for work, etc. Seemed like normal conversation so I politely responded to his questions. Don't give a shite if he was fishing for something or not. Drove off with my warning and went along with the rest of my day.

If I have em in my car I offer them
If not I ask what is the best one close by and ask if they want to join me and the first ones are on me for their service.
