I considered buying a gun when I first moved to New Orleans, I just never got around to it. Luckily I haven't been murdered, yet. This nonsense that is going on is not going to make me go out and buy a gun.

Realistically speaking, crime and gun violence is way down from the 80s and 90s. The only difference between then and now is 24/7 media coverage and the internet. You should buy a gun to protect yourself from street level criminals and not because of current events.

And civilian gun ownership at all time highs. What a coincidence.
Or maybe you think that prospective criminals don't care whether or not you are likely to have a gun.

People who don't buy guns for self defense are similar to vaccine deniers, benefitting from group inoculation without exposing themselves to perceived danger.

Already own a gun but since I'm not a cop nor a racist, I think I'm fine

Are you white, white-Hispanic, white-Asian, or black?

If any of the first 3, then you're considered racist enough to be targeted.

Gun ownership and crime rate are unrelated due to the fact civilian gun owners rarely stop crime in general.

Accidental shootings also rise with gun ownership rates. A lot more retards own guns and don't properly secure them. You are far more likely to get shot by your own guns than use it in self defense. Just keep that in mind when you buy a gun.

I've never had any desire to own a gun. I'm kind of considering it more now. At least taking some shooting lessons. I think this board is rubbing off on me.
