In a freaking heartbeat. I’d like to move to Maine or back to the Boston area. I love that part of the country and miss it.

As a Stephen King reader, I have always wanted to visit. I couldn't deal with the cold, though.

I think you’re in Nashville too from previous posts. I like it here. But I’d definitely prefer being closer to the ocean or even a remote lake.

The Pacific Northwest would also be cool.

We just did this. I got a good job working from home and my husband's employer is letting him work remotely through the end of the year. We moved to Knoxville, TN and love it!

I do and could. My kid is going into 7th grade this year, once he graduates high school I'm going somewhere off the radar.

We have a place on Lake D'Arbonne in Farmerville, La so I may go live on the lake for a while.

I’d love to live in Europe, so I’d probably try that if I could find suitable employment.

I love the cold and the snow. Supposed to top 100 here for the next few days. I get in a bad mood just thinking about it. I used to sit on my sofa with a cup of hot tea and just watch the snow fall. I found it quite peaceful.

I did not. I rented and it was part of the rent. I was lucky enough the couple of times I had to get my car out someone had already shoveled around it. I took public transportation pretty much everywhere so shoveling wasn’t an issue. At the time, my car had 4WD so snow tires weren’t really an issue either.

I will say I didn’t care for the de-icing procedure when flying. I had the fear of them missing some ice and the plane going down.

Cape Elizabeth from April to Labor Day would be outstanding. I was just in Maine two weeks ago and a few days were perfect. Our friends said it was the best stretch they had so far this year though, so it’s not like Northern California. The winters really appear comparable to Minnesota, so that’s a hard pass for living there full time.

From a combination of weather and affordability, I think TN (good tax breaks too) or NC are your best bets. Southern California would be a no brainer if I had more than 5-6 million.

D'Arbonne is pretty but Farmerville is in the running for trashiest town in Louisiana.

First of all, this is the OT. Us OTers in the northeast pay people to do that for us. Obviously.

Second, you do realize that shoveling snow is not a daily routine in the winter, right? Maybe 4-5 times a year at most.

And from what my help tells me, shoveling snow a few times a year is better than cutting grass in the blazing heat every week in the summer.
