Do y'all not get bored after two days at the beach? Laying around for a few days sounds terrible.
That's what diving and exploring the local area is for.

I just get stir crazy on islands. I like the ocean, I just have to have something on the interior to explore. Hence my San Sebastian answer.

I’d go for value. Somewhere nice known for being expensive that has great food and great accommodations with solid nightlife. Probably France. Paris and/or French Riviera. And go first class the whole way

Probably the Galapagos Islands.

We went about 5 years ago but only for a boat day trip from the mainland.
It's on my bucket list to go back and stay for a week. It's as close to paradise as anywhere on Earth, IMO.

Since its free I assume him meant Value to himself, so spend as much as possible of someone else's money.

An upscale African Safari. They look like fun and are pretty expensive.
Either that or Grand Isle.

It's on my list. We keep talking about it but another trip always gets in the way.

A tour through WWII European battle sites, but I’d need more time

FWIW you can have a fantastic fricking time in Thailand for dirt cheap. Air travel will be the biggest expense, but you can go for a few weeks with a grand or so.
