Enjoy who you are where you are every day and stop focusing so much on the future.

Don’t dip or smoke. The stupid shite you are stressing about now will be hilarious to you in 5 years. Hell I’m 50, I’d like to even go back and give my 40 y/o self advice
Family is always more important than work. Think about work at work, not home. Those monotonous days, enjoy those moments, it’s life. Supper, kid’s homework, playing outside, taking them to school, enjoy that shite

Spend more time with your parents.
They’ll be gone before you know it.
They’ll be gone before you know it.

this is one thing I learned early on, both mine are long gone now but I never missed an opportunity to call/spend time with them, and I told them I loved them every time I talked to them

Once read that by the time a child is 18, them and their parents have already spent 99% of the time together they will ever have.

Women - Before you decide on marriage, look at her mother. That is what you will be with in 25 years, physically and emotionally. If you think her family are whack jobs now, it will get worse over time.
Maybe I'd believe myself.
Someone told me this, and I smiled and dismissed it in my mind, because hell, I was 22 at the time, and I was smarter than my parents then, even though I respected the hell out of them.
The hell with women, get money.

Here is what I would say.
Cars - You are not as clever as you think. Bring your father with you when you are buying that first car.
Women - Before you decide on marriage, look at her mother. That is what you will be with in 25 years, physically and emotionally. If you think her family are whack jobs now, it will get worse over time.
Finance - Remember, it is not what you make but what you keep and save that is important.
100% true

1.) Don't waste money on alcohol, tobacco, or women that you aren't in a serious relationship with.
2.) Build an emergency savings of 10k as soon as you can.
3.) Listen to people who actually know what they're talking about when making decisions about careers. I'm sure your family cares about you but 99% of people have zero idea of what's going on when it comes to the job market, finances, or economics.
4.) Break up with your high school sweetheart, it's probably not going to work out.

Walk on to play football at MSU or OM instead of taking scholly at Juco to play.
Thought Juco would prep me for the next level. They didn’t. Should have taken the “invited walk on” from State and tried to develop myself in a real SEC program and maybe could have played some by junior year

quote:While definiteyl a good rule of thumb that's not necessarily always true. My wifes mom is a bit off (sweet lady just very emotionally unstable) but mrs pedro definitely takes more after her dad who is more stable and grounded. Bits of her mom come out every once and again but she usually catches and corrects it pretty quick.

Don't smoke so much weed.
I dragged arse around in college because I was "Having Fun".
Set my career back 5-6 years, all those days getting baked and playing Pebble Beach Golf on the Nintendo.
what a waste of time

Pay more attention in class and quit chasing pus*y so much. Although that was very fun.

Enjoy youth before making lifetime commitments...there is only once in your life when you're young and carefree. Invest in experiences over things, whether time with family/friends or life.
