Majored in History
Minored in African-American Studies and Sociology
I have taught high school, marketed clean energy, worked at a think tank in DC, and now operate an insurance agency.
I was also able to do anything I wanted for 5 years while at LSU cause it was a cake-walk. I wouldn't have changed a thing about my studies.

Petroleum is what interests me the most but limits you and could be a dying industry in the future. Agriculture is something else I would enjoy.

I'd do finance or economics rather than management... Or maybe plant science. I had the best management teachers before I even got to college, my father and grandfather, but when the bankers and crop scientists start talking, they get a little over my head sometimes.

I waver on this so much. I'm on computers all the time, so you think you could stare at the screen while working. But staring at code is not the same as staring at the result, and pounding out that work could take a toll.
The obviously big flip side is you can do a lot of it remotely. Guy I met here just took off with his wife for a few months to her home country of Spain since he works from home. Not many jobs let you do that.

PoliSci was my major. Wish I'd gone into Business Finance or Economics.

Would've skipped the 3 years I wasted in BADM, and gone straight to forestry. It was much more interesting and I liked going to school

Meteorology (or a variation of it within Geography if Meteorology wasn't available).
I really wish I took a gap year between high school and college.

Ag Business -- No clue what else I would have majored in. I've always been an ag guy. After 25 years with Farm Credit I'm starting to sour on the lending side. So much regulation, oversight, & arm chair QBing. I find myself backpedaling and defending every thing I do. It's still a good job and I love ag, but it is wearing on me.
Probably would've kept Ag Bus degree, but gone back to the farm.

I regret majoring in CJ. Wish I would have went into engineering or majored in Poli-Sci and continued on to Law Sch
You don't need to major in political science to get into law school, in fact those majors don't have a higher acceptance rate than others.
Also thought this was a volod thread

Got my degree in Finance - Risk Management and Insurance
Wouldn't even consider trading it. College was difficult but not overly consuming. Still had time to do all the social things I wanted.
If you graduate with RMI degree, you have a 95% chance to get a job right out of college. Start out making crap (~45k), but you can QUICKLY move up the ladder.

Everyone saying they wish they would have done engineering says that shite now, but they wanted to party their face off in college instead.
I kind of take offense when people say that, like its the same as saying I wish I had ordered a turkey sandwich instead of a roast beef. Its not as simple as that.
signed bitter engineering graduate

Same here. I have had a good career but in the oil industry so I am hanging on. There is always sick people. No ups and downs in the medical industry.

< Finance graduate who switched from accounting sophomore yr, now finding it to be a bad decision.
In todays market you need a more specific degree.
