I'm a scientist by training, but also a Christian. Once upon a time we were having this discussion and I pointed out two things: 1) Einstein proved that time travel is easier than interstellar travel, at least withing the time frame of human life spans and 2) IF there was life on another planet, what are the odds that it would have "evolved" with two arms, two legs, and and head with two eyes, a nose and a mouth in pretty much the same form as humans (pretty low). My supposition at the time was, it was more like humanoids from another time visiting Earth today.
Then my atheist friend spoke up. "What if they were made by God in his own image like it says in Genesis?"

This.

What if they had never fallen and never succumbed to the Serpent’s temptation? Thriving in a pristine relationship with God, knowing God face to face, would they need a Bible?

That they are demonic is the most plausible theory consistent with a Biblical narrative/worldview isn’t it?

And evolution.

There are angels in the Bible, too.

It's the old statement: "either we are entirely alone in this vast universe, or we are not...both are equally terrifying"
I am a Christian, but I do also have big questions about the vastness of space. It is statistically improbable for there not to be life somewhere else, given the elements, laws, and truths of the universe hold across it's entirety and the scope of its size. So that part of me leans on there being life, in some form, out "there". But then I reconcile that with the principles and edicts of Christianity, that life was created by God, to worship God, and when sin entered the picture, an atonement was needed and sent to be paid by God in human form by way of Jesus. I don't think Jesus is just out there doing a tour of dying on crosses for all the planets of lost souls.
All that to say...if you dig deep enough, everything at some level takes an investment into a belief. And given the multiple scenarios that could have occurred, I am wise enough to say that I am not smart enough to know the answer.

quote:The aliens are God's original attempt at creating something in his own image, but the final product was imperfect so he cast them out to the far-flung reaches of the universe. Unluckily for us, they are starting to make their way back to Earth and will be looking for revenge against their "perfect" successor, humans.
While I’m guessing far less than 50% of you share these thoughts, some questions for those that do. Do Aliens know the finer details of God and ‘Heaven’? Could they be helping humanity to achieve enlightenment and eternal life? Can they communicate with spirits and/or spirit guides?

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Notice how the bible says that God created the Heavens first. Therefore God would have created other life forms too if there are any out there.
Imagine if the life he created had 10 million years advancement on us.

God wouldn't tell us about Aliens because a lot of the Bible is a guidebook on how to build a successful civilization.
If you don't buy this, consider that Jews and Christians are the most successful demographics in world history and its not remotely close.
If you throw in there that these star people exist and one day they might come visit you, all progress will be thrown into the gutter in favor of building up defense for the day the star people come.

Both are successful in different ways.
Christians have contributed more to arts, sciences, and civilization in general than any other group. Christian nations have existed in one form or another for thousands of years.
Jews are generally one of the more successful demographics on a more individual level because of the tenets of their faith and the strong community structure that they have.

I don't doubt it. Just wanted to know more about why you consider them the most successful in world history by far.

The OT gave me the most logical hypothesis on Aliens. Ancient humans that migrated underground long ago and might be a slightly different species by now. Evolved with big pupils and shrunken bodies due to dark and pressure of environment. Only come to surface at night, etc

The belief and/or worship of aliens is no more an outlandish claim as that of God to atheists, except even more so: They claim aliens are not supernatural, but very natural and very real to the touch.
The onus of proof that aliens exist is on you, and with things like the goldilocks zone and the minute probability that there's conditions like ours out there to spawn life like ours being so small, the odds are not in your favor.
Not one single person reading this has ever seen an alien.
