re: “If you aren’t pulling 6 figs by 30, you should re-evaluate your life” Is this wrong?

I wouldn’t say re-evaluate. I had 4 kids by 30. Was only pulling about 75-80k. Got divorced at 33, (yes the child support is a b*tch). Was able to crack 100k because I was so much happier and focused by 35.

The real jump can happen when you get in with a company that has higher margins and you are in revenue generation. My previous company gave me great experience...just lower margins which gets you paid less.

If you are happy and have the right people in your life, it does world’s of wonder for your job performance and ability to earn. So, maybe a re-evaluation of your social circle and and foundational relationships would be in order.

Not sure how the two correlate. You can live like said King and still save plenty on 100k in many small towns across La.

Most of the time it isn't about how much you make. It's about how much you spend. Typically the more money people have, their tastes get more expensive.

There are plenty of people out there making North of 100k and living paycheck to paycheck and plenty of people making 50K and building a nest egg.

I hit six at 30. I'm now pulling in multiple six figures in my early 30s. Only did so because I'm self employed.

The jump from 70k to 100k to multiple 100k+/year really hasn't changed my quality of life other than I work more and can afford nicer things.

Can't say the grind is worth it. But not having to worry about money is a pretty good feeling.

The value of earning more is it reduces stress associated with not having it. The flip side is the time and energy to earn more probably offsets it all.

I think $200K is more of a breakthrough threshold. At that point, it’s comfortable living anywhere.

54 never pulled that . I grew up poor and I usually pull about 50-60k a year( my wife the same) I never went to college, I have myself to blame for that. Two kids, three grandkids and a beautiful wife I’m happy with that. Also my son went to LSU ( first in our family) and is now an mechanical engineer and 26 is pulling 87k and Daughter makes around 65 both are married and happy... that’s what I can hang my hat on

Being single an 29 I've always strived to make as much money as possible early on to be able to become financially independent. I love making money, and hit 6 figures last year by hustling through jobs. But it has nothing to do with living a lavish lifestyle but more about building a comfortable life and not worrying about money.

I hang out with people that still struggle and live paycheck to paycheck, and beyond buying a nice new vehicle because I drive for work, I try to live a minimal lifestyle and just want to be happy. I'm plenty comfortable but still looking for fulfillment. Its all relative in the grand scheme of things.

It's more about wealth than it is income.

I'm guessing less than 10% of the population makes 6 figures.

In 2019, it was 9%

When my goal was originally "make as much money as possible and keep producing more" I was fricking miserable though and wasting half the money I made on tryin to take these big trips and other things to make it "worth it" since I hated what I was doing.

This is what I have been doing since March. I found myself in a unique situation being able to hold two jobs 1 full time and 1 part time in my field. Since my FT job is shift work, I have 7 days off every 14 and I have been picking up 2-3 shifts every pay period for the last 9 months. My original thought was that since everything is closed I’ll just make a frick ton of money, pay off student loans etc.

Now I’m about worn the frick out. I’ll probably suffer through it for a few more months only because we have a few home remodeling projects we want to complete. After that is paid for I’m going to cherish the frick out of my time off.

Who doesn’t make 6 figs? I will have done it 7 times before I hit the age of 30.

There’s a lot more to life than money. If you’re not enjoying your life, then you should reevaluate it.
