The matter is not concerning fast or slow (both relative terms), it's more about passing vs non-passing.
The far left is the "passing lane" - not the fast lane...

I always stay in the right lane. I want faster people to pass me if I’m doing 80. They become the prime radar target.

I prefer the left lane but I don't speed. Every time someone starts tailgating me or flashes their lights, I make sure to slow down a little bit.

Sure I understand what the speed limit is. Unlike you understanding slower traffic to right. The law does not say if you are doing the speed limit you don’t have to relinquish the lane. It says slower to the right, no exceptions. Don’t believe me. Dial *577 and ask you local State Trooper. I did.
