Do you want to drive up depression rates? That's how you do it.

Apple CEO Tim Cook tested a prototype Apple Watch with a blood sugar monitor. LINK That's the kind of data you'd need for a data driven health revolution. Immediate feedback on the crap we're eating. The watch nagging you to work out probably isn't a bad thing either.

People that weigh themselves regularly tend to weigh less because you think about behaviors more. So, sure.

Or are people who want to weigh less weighing themselves more regularly?

Weight does matter.

Sure, there is a bit of a gap in the BMI with regards to muscle/fat and certain groups being 'technically' overweight/obese because they are 5 lbs into the bad range for their height because of their muscle mass.

But that's not the people that need help from looking at a scale.

As long as you don't have dicks for brains, you know that the athletic 6'2" guy in the gym all day being healthy at 210 lbs does not equate to your 5'8" never seen a gym self being healthy at 210 lbs.

For those people, being forced to step on a scale daily and see their bad decisions in number form may actually help.

I’m that way too. Just got the Nokia smart scale that sends every weigh in to an app on my phone that trends my gains/losses

It’s been pretty interesting, especially because a weigh myself at least daily.

So a bunch of fatties kill themselves with a gun or pills instead of a whopper. Nice.

So, the question stands. If every adult in the United States weighted themselves each day, would most people use that to motivate themselves to living healthier?

No. The only exercise most people do to get up and walk to the refrigerator and sit back down

Doubt it. Weight doesn’t mean anything. It’s size and body composition

I am the same waist size now as I was in high school but I’m 30 pounds lighter.

Now if people had to have their body fat percentage every morning, that might be different

I agree with you when you're talking about young folks or people who work out with weights. But generally speaking you can use weight to gauge increases in overall fatness, and subsequently unhealthiness.

With like 90% of the overall adult population. That arguement is a disenginous way for fatties to try to shift the narrative.

This is the study I’ve read; it’s true for me. If I weigh every day, I can’t put on blinders. If I see my weight creeping up a couple lbs, it shames me into cutting back. I still have weight to lose, but weighing daily at least prevents me from burying my head in the sand & gaining.

No weight is not the absolute measure to use on all over 300 million Americans and the tens of millions with Diabetes or risk for diabetes.... but I think it can be cheap and easy way to allow for people to track and improve their health.

Weight everyday and average over a 7 day period. Water can change your weight by +/- 5lbs daily.
