If people had to weigh themselves every day, would people be healthier?

There’s been a lot of talk about the upcoming health revolution.... but a lot of it revolves around data.

And I got to thinking, if people had the data, would they even do anything about it.

So, the question stands. If every adult in the United States weighted themselves each day, would most people use that to motivate themselves to living healthier?

Doubt it. Weight doesn’t mean anything. It’s size and body composition

I am the same waist size now as I was in high school but I’m 30 pounds lighter.

Now if people had to have their body fat percentage every morning, that might be different

There was a lot of talk about that in the 80s too.

Hell, half the fatties here think they are bigger badasses because they outweigh you by 100lbs

When I have a scale in my home, I actually am much healthier. I weigh myself multiple times each day to set benchmarks. I get a little obsessive.

My last scale is gone so I just got a new one and I’m super excited

Do you think fat people don't know they are fat?

So we'll have Alexa tell us our weight when we get out of bed every morning.

No.

Weight =/= Healthy in all situations.

Not to say all of the morbidly obese people claiming they are healthy is correct, because they are dead wrong.

But a 180lb male can easily be less healthy than a 200lb male.

Daily weigh ins would increase stress, which in turn would raise cortisol levels, which would lead to fat retention. I weigh myself once a month out of habit. What I actually care about it how I feel physically, what I see in the mirror, and how my clothes fit.

If this website is any indication, no.

This is a good one. My dress pants and belt fit my “normal” waist perfectly. I can easily tell when I’m a little bigger or smaller. With chinos, not so much

Of course. Morbidly obese know they are fat and unhealthy, but there are plenty of guys (90% of this site) that have "dad bod" that if they got a blood test and Dexxa would be scared shitless at the results.

As someone who went from around 300 to 175, having a scale did help keep me motivated.

People that weigh themselves regularly tend to weigh less because you think about behaviors more. So, sure.
