I can confirm this to be true. Mine is disabled for this reason.
I wish that remote play was more dependable. I've had some luck playing with my controller over the ipad. Not consistent enough to do any real gaming. I used it to do all of my recruiting during the day.

I knew a guy who hooked up a bitcoin mining rig to his office's network in 2015. I think he kept it going for a couple of years before a competent new IT person saw it on the network and started asking questions.

Sometimes you have to use the office WAN because they pay for the good internet connections. At my office we just switched to 2 Gig Symmetrical fiber from REV. That sh!t is crazy fast. YouTube and Facebook video uploads are crazy fast and these are multiple gigabyte files.
