You know where you stand with a group of cackling women by how they behave when you enter a room. 
My office ladies know two things: I always answer honestly, regardless of feelings, and I can generally offer input on any mechanical question they may have.
Admittedly, some of their husbands are fricking worthless.
One of the ladies is married to a mid 40s black guy who works here, who is, I shite you not, named Tyrone. I tell her every time the women are on a tirade she should count herself lucky for being married to him. Tyrone is a master's degree having CPA who wears cowboy boots to work. And can still dunk in said boots.

I gave my wife a stupid reason to complain this last week. We were in Grand Cayman and I called it a third world country all week. Every opportunity I had to call it a third world I did.
I don't really think it's a third world country. I just knew it would get under her skin. I knew it got under her skin because she felt the need to correct me EVERY TIME I called it a third world country.

I will never understand people who bitch about their spouses. Your spouse is a direct reflection of you. If you do not respect your spouse, I automatically label you as an idiot for choosing a poor marriage. If you have a problem with your spouse, for your own sake, suffer in silence lest everyone think you are a fool.

Thanks. I learned it from my parents. They never griped about each other, though I'm sure they had countless moments of frustration.
Your spouse is the ONLY person who is expected to have your back at all times and it strikes me as so reckless when people willingly compromise that united front by poisoning the relationship. Your group of friends that you are bitching to are never going to sacrifice their situation/time/money for you. I left a job and moved to a new city for my wife, but there's no way I would have done that if I found out she was calling me a dolt to her friends and family behind my back.

Yep. My wife is great and I'm very blessed.
There are a lot of folks out there in terrible, toxic marriages--and they think that's normal.

Yep. When someone constantly complains about their spouse, all I can think is "you chose this! What does that say about you? You willingly chose to have an unhappy life. Please don't come to me for emotional or financial support when this all goes south. I am not your spouse."
