In comments it says New Orleans residents only

Judging by the post replies, this was not (surprisingly) thought out at all.

Don't they do these in BR occasionally?

Aren't BB and pellet guns considered Air rifles?

If so I'd bring them and say "hey, you said any rifle."

Did not think about this. I have a new M17 trainer worth $125. I can sell it to NOLA for $500 and buy another for $125.

Except they will be getting the name, SSN, license of each person.

Take it back to the ballistics lab, match shell casings at the scene of crimes, bang- make an arrest.

Great strategy.

Says "firearm" and most bb guns are technically not firearms but, rather, air guns.

Since they aren't asking for proof of ownership, just get a buddy living in NOLA to turn them in for you. Easy money. I hope this backfires on her so badly.

I have an old M1 that probably hasn’t been shot since Kennedy has been in office. Do you think it’ll be worth to turn it in for $500?

Probably. I have several guns that I'd sell for $500. BR needs to do this.

$500 CASH?

Damn.

All these Baton Rouge people turning in guns for a maybe $100 GAS card are going to start heading south.

They have been doing gun buy backs in New Orleans for years just not for that much cash.

They also do them in Baton Rouge but exchange gas cards instead of gift cards.

We should rob the gun buy back program if they are going to have that much cash on them

Why?

I don’t see a problem with some old lady selling back guns that her knucklehead grandkids will end up stealing anrobbing a tourist with.

From what I am reading its Orleans Parish residents only. I want to go. I have several guns that are worth less than $500, but that church is in a terrible neighborhood, and everyone will be armed. Walking out of there with cash will be dangerous.
