4 -6 across line wrapping around the station. How much gas are they burning sitting idle for like an hour with the A/C on full blast, all to save a few nickels a gallon? Not to mention is their time worth so little to them?

Target practice if it’s the New Orleans Costco.

Because the station is orderly with all cars going in one direction. There aren't a bunch of people flying into the facility from all direction creating havoc and chaos. The pumps generally are always working and, despite the long volume of cars, the line generally moves rather quickly. You also don't have dingbats who fill up then leave their car at the pump for 10 minutes while they go inside to get a Slurpee and a pack of smokes. It's also a great place to check out MILFs filling up their Lexus SUVs.

I hate to burst your hot take but it takes about 15-20 minutes tops to get gas even when they are super busy

Edit: 15-20 minutes is being gracious. Probably closer to 10 minutes

I go if there are less than 4 cars in front of the line I choose. Just have to know the right times of day.

Right, and I don't want to spend an extra 15-20 minutes to save a dollar...the other dollar was still wasted while sitting idle.

Is that supposed to be quick? I can't imagine waiting in line for gas for 15-20 mins.

I fill up and then go to the store so it’s all part of the Costco trip.

And like someone else said; it’s orderly, the pumps all work, and people don’t dawdle because they know someone is behind them waiting. And there’s no store for them to run into to grab something “real quick” while their vehicle fills.

COSTCO is GOAT. I've never had to wait more than five minutes to tank-up at my COSTCO. Folks in this area are mostly conservative. They are polite and don't waste any time filling up their vehicles. They get in and out quick. Conservatives are like that....polite and respectful.

Where are y’all filling up in BR where this is an issue?

I usually go to BQwik on Perkins and can’t remember the last time they didn’t have a pump available

I believe sitting idle for an hour burns about 1/8th of a gallon, so not too much in the grand scheme of things.

My neighbor drives an hour to Costco once a week to fill up.

I've heard from a mechanic that the only fuel related issues he's seen over the years are vehicles that used only off-brand gas. No Exxon or Shell or other major brand.

Meanwhile, the time between your OP and this reply is 15 minutes. I imagine you’ve spent that time sitting idle, scrolling tigerdroppings, and checking for replies to your post.

Rather than wasting that time, you could be getting gas at COSTCO, while scrolling tigerdroppings and saving a few bucks on gas.

Costco is typically 40-50 cents cheaper per gallon. So on my 36 gallon tank that can mean a savings of 15-18 dollars. Absolutely worth the wait. The better deal for gas savings is Benny’s unlimited car wash fro $15.00 per month which gets you the 30-40 cents per gallon savings there. Do the math I pay for the unlimited carwashes with one fill up at Benny’s with the savings of filling up a 36 gallon tank.
