It’s going with me to the house and I’m gonna think on it for a while before i figure what to do with the million dollars.
There are ways to wash money. Just gotta be smart about it.
Like, don’t go to the ferrari store with rubber band stacks of cash like a dumb shite

The wife and I would feel absolutely zero guilt in keeping that money. Keep it low key, no large purchases, stack money from our regular jobs in the bank, cash for every grocery bill, bar tab, restaurant check, etc. forever.

First thing I would be doing is having a large fire proof safe installed in my house.

My concern if I had found the cash and kept it would be that the former owners of the cash were less than legitimate,

Anything under 10,000 dollars you could buy easy.

So the correct way to handle it is to take it somewhere, ensure there are no tracking devices, split it between safety deposits and a robust home safe, and use it to pay cash for every minor/moderate expense for the next 10-15 years.
That should keep it under Uncle Sam’s radar but enables a rapid and sustained improvement in quality of life.

As long as there isn't any tracking deice just simply get a fire safe and stash it at home. Then you buy all your regular purchase with cash. Groceries, dining out, clothes, basic $100 Target trips, etc. No one would ever actually know. If you want to do something like go to Disney then just buy DIsney gift cards at Target, CVS, etc. in $100-$200 increments over a few months. I'm sure you could do the same with other vacation destinations.

Seriously. One of my life rules is don’t touch money found in any type of luggage. Just keep walking.

This thread reminded me of that movie as well.

Surely these people aren't dumb enough to turn the whole thing in right?
The majority of that money will never leave the police it would be retarded not to at least keep a good chunk of it

I would've had to tell the cops and tell them I found $100,000 in cash.

If I found that much cash and turned it into the police, I sure as hell wouldn’t let them publish my name in the news. Seems like you’re just asking for trouble.

When I was a poor college student, I found around $2500 blowing around in the middle of the road. I pulled over and gathered it up in disbelief. I looked around and couldn't see anything close that would explain it...like a bank, etc. I waited for a while in case someone showed up looking for it but noone did so I kept it.
I made the mistake of telling some people at work about it and they looked at me like I had just robbed some old lady. Screw em. I made $5.00 hr and was living off ramen noodles, what did they expect?

That's some pretty good change.

I’ve watched too many movies to know keeping this is a terrible idea.
What if it’s some type of cartel, drug, mafia, etc drop? Think they’ll just say “oh darn” and not come looking?

You've watched too many movies. There are millions of dollars in cash moving around you during the day that you never even think about.

If there are no cameras in the area and no one sees you pick it up, how would anyone know you took it? Don't be flashy, don't tell a soul and spend it discretely and responsibly.

Could you just make a 20 or 40 trips to the casino and get chips then cash out after a few hours of sitting at the bar?
Posted on 5/20/20 at 12:24 am to Saint Alfonzo
I would, for the rest of my life, wonder if someone saw me. And if/when someone would coming looking for it.
