I brine my turkey in a cooler. Fill with cold water and some ice, just enough ice to make a layer of ice floating on top. Stick unwrapped turkey in cooler. Check every so often to see if it still has ice. When most of the ice is gone stick more ice in. It will thaw in less than a day this way plus the turkey gets brined.

Turkey sucks anyway. Ham or roast any day.

You could have just thawed it out overnight at RT.

No it will not.

I have had turkeys stay rock hard for days in a cooler.

Easiest quick thaw is water in the sink.

Fill your sink and thaw it in there for a few hours.

Just drop the turkey in a fryer with hot peanut oil, it will flash thaw and you will be good to go.

Google the videos for frying frozen turkeys first.

If you’re gonna bring a turkey, you should use a fresh, never frozen for best results. The cooler with ice will keep it in the safe temperature range. Putting a frozen turkey in brined ice water will only keep it frozen longer. Since the brine has a lowere melting point than fresh water, it’s likely the brine will be at or lower than 32 degrees for quite a while in a cooler.

Typical A&M grad, they can tell you what the problem is, but can't fix the problem, give you an alternative solution to the problem, sits back a watches while someone else fixes the problem while thinking they are the smartest one in the room.

Fill up one side of sink with cold water. Of that is too small use small ice chest. Put turkey in it. Thaws out in a few hours. When you cut open the package you may need to stand up the turkey and run water down inside the cavity to get the rest of the ice out

I done mine this way for as long as I remember.

It's not recommended to thaw a turkey anywhere but the fridge. Yall are fricking with salmonella if you do it any other way. You could die, son.

Thawing a turkey in about 2 hours is not a problem. First, put it in the sink and run warm water into the body cavity until all the ice is gone. Then brine it, by starting with warm water. Change the water every 30 mins or so. If you smoke it, having it about 80% thawed is not a problem either.

Hey Aggie, worry about pleasing the man in your life and quit worrying about his mom.
