I'm fine with using cell phone data to catch murderers. I wish they would do more of it.

I’m far more concerned With the fact that the FBI had Indiana State Police pull over a suspect to spy on him and his father, who was NOT a suspect. So the FBI tells the police to pull someone over so they can get video on the person, and law enforcement specifically target a free American not breaking a law make up a reason to pull them over because the FBI told them to. Scary.

This is exactly how they solved the case and located the victim's vehicle and remains in the case several years back where the owner of Import One on Airline paid 3 idiots to kill his wife. They all brought their phones along and called him every step of the way with updates lol

You would think the ringleader genius would have thought to buy burner phones for his crew of dumbasses

Well, back in mid 90s LEOs we’re able to id a cell phone location with 3 feet of the device. But, LEOs still needed a court order to tap it or collect the location data. Court orders are still required but, wink wink………

If Boost mobile partnered with NOPD we'd be crime free in a week

That's the part of this case you find scary? If so, you may want to go get your tardism checked out.

They caught the dumbass for pinging off of cell phone towers. The affidavit even spells out that turning his phone off, going into airplane mode, or going out of range of cell towers would all disable that particular tracking ability.
But honestly not sure why this is a surprise?
Even worse. He visited that street several times leading up to the crime. Seems to have disabled his phone when he went to do the crime, turned it back on on a winding trip home. Then had his phone on when he went back to the scene the next morning. Like why?

Hopefully it wasn't that questionable porn I was watching. Because it was very questionable

If you thought that was questionable, then I don’t even want to know what you think is off limits.

I've got nothing to hide and don't plan on committing any murders so I'm ok with it. They've used this method many, many, times to catch killers. In the Netflix documentary Sins of Our Mother this is how they found the bodies of the children and who buried them.
