Doesn’t look there have been many promising updates lately, but the surveillance video request 24 miles away seems like they have some idea of who they’re tracking.

This. The guy will do it again at some point and the crimes will be linked and it will be a huge story- cover of People, etc.
Or familial DNA will hit.

They have DNA?
I ask because they are almost to the point where, if they have a sample, they can narrow it to a family. Enough family members of every person have donated DNA to the recreational databases to allow CODIS to be almost all-inclusive.

He's damn good.
Mr. Ballen is a better storyteller, but Mike is more consistent.
Mr.BlackPasta has a YOUTUBE Channel called The Disturbing Truth that true crime fans should check out. Fair warning, he dives deep into some of the most horrifying cases you can imagine, and it's disturbing on another level.

Follow all 3. TDT has gone a little too disturbing a couple times but always good.

Making Another Monster: He is Hell was so disturbing that I nearly threw up.
And here's what's more fricked up, La Bestia is eligible for parole in 2023.

They probably have 3rd party dna, but it might be of the type that could have been left by anyone in house recently or around them earlier in the night. Without murder weapon to test, a sex element, or other dna found that could only have been left by the killer during the murders a complete stranger’s dna might stand out but someone with a connection to victims and house that can be more easily explained away may not be as helpful.
If they had some dna that only killer would have left (or most likely) it seems like they would be pushing dna collections more by now and permanently excluding some in area around time of murders as suspects based on that. I guess if mixed with victims some testing may still be in process as I am not sure how quickly that much blood can tested to distinguish victims’ blood from say a drop of the killer’s.

Press conference today at 1pm local (Idaho) time.
Apparently it is a couple of hours before a memorial service. Not sure if that means anything.

That story would be broken, they wouldn't be able to keep it under wraps until the announcement.
