What is the prospect of solving a murder as the days and weeks tick by? The rate of solving a murder has to decline steeply, especially since we now have dna evidence, which has often freed prisoners since its widespread acceptance.
It’s a terrible situation for the community and the university; a remembrance that will live on for decades as new students come to town.
A quadruple murder with a bladed weapon while survivors sleep unaware; it just boggles my mind.

New Video that the police have, shows the two girls earlier in the night with “hoodie guy” near them and the girls were talking about him.

Does your gut tell you police have a legit suspect they are just trying to collect enough evidence on?
It’s crazy to me with the FBI’s early involvement, not much is known about the case.

I’ve been following this very closely. I usually follow these and other big types of stories and trials.
I think hoodie guy is definitely a person of interest. I’m not convinced it is him just yet though, especially since the police interviewed him and likely not linked to the White Elantra unless it was a buddies car. He does hurry around the corner after seeing the girls get into their ride (not Uber btw) home though

I think the police definitely have a lot of evidence they are not sharing and know much more than they let on. I believe right now that they have some ideas of who might be involved in some capacity, but I think the White Elantra is really the key to bring it all together…as I think this was potentially done by 2 people, either both in the house, or 1 in the house and 1 in the car waiting
I don’t think this was a completely random killing

In the new surveillance video from sometime before the food truck in downtown…..Kaylee can be heard asking:
“Maddie, what did you say to Adam?”
Maddie replies:
“Like, I told Adam everything”

Has anyone with the name of Adam been mentioned in connection to this in the past? Seems like so many names outside of the Jacks have come up but can’t recall an Adam. Kaylee’s dad said the person isn’t a suspect. What they were talking about and having the same Jack near them as at food truck is definitely interesting.
I did read that police video taken nearby may have picked up the sound of a car peeling out or a scream.

Also read that cops have known about white vehicle from the day or 2 after from a security camera at a house or an apartments complex on Linda Ln off Taylor.

Probably nothing but a random white elantra with no plates and lots of damage was found in Eugene, OR...450 miles away. A homeless guy was found in the car but he's not the owner.

I watched part of a YT video embedded on another forum where the host analyzed the audio. It wasn't until then that I could hear the "scream".
However, the host compared it to a real scream and a brake squealing....and it sounds more like the brakes than a scream.
I just tried to find the video and wasn't successful. I'll post it if I come across it again.

I’ve posted this before: in my experience, these crimes are seldom “solved” by so-called detective work. This ain’t a movie and there’s no Sherlock hard at work in the background.
Unless there is a witness or the perp is caught in the act, there’s little hope until or unless an informant appears.

Highly likely this perp has no DNA in the system and has likely never been caught before (may be his first time) which will make this highly difficult for police to sort out. The white car seems like a decent lead but clearly not a slam dunk at this point. If this perp was close to one of the victims or had anger rage specifically toward them I think this one would be solved or very narrowed down at this point.
The longer it goes on the higher likelihood this was a random attack or the perp had no real connection to the victims and that makes really hard to find him.
