By removing undesirables.

I get your argument- perhaps it is more genocide.

So looking at it, that's not true.

Looks like only about 80% even get the screening

People I have met with Downs syndrome are some of happiest and most joyful people I have ever met.

From someone with almost zero experience with downs, it seems like the kids are just, if not more, happy as other kids. But when they enter adulthood things aren't as easy. Weight gain looks to be a big problem. Trying to live alone after their parents aren't around to care for them anymore.

One situation I know of is a lady with two other siblings with downs. One parent died and the other is elderly and can't care for the two disabled children effectively anymore.
This leaves the care of two downs people and an elderly parent to the lone capable sibling. Its quite the un-earned responsibility and very stressful.

I can see the argue both ways I will just say this. Man should not be playing God.

The "critics" would be absolutely correct.

Europe is sick.

That’s sad.

I though by reading the headline there was some sort of breakthrough.

all children lead to “complicated” lives

Even a cat can lead to "complications" during their relatively short time with your family. Point is, it's a sliding scale, and the majority of those with DS are unable to live on their own which makes them far more complicated and permanent than a normal child.

Don't get me wrong, I've never met anyone with down syndrome who didn't have a beautiful soul, and I've loved any time spent with them. But I also can't blame anyone for not wanting to be a caretaker of sorts for 60+ years when they were only expecting 18 years or so with a normal child. People are different and have different ambitions, and that's ok.

There really isn't a difference between the 2. Liberals have white washed Margaret Sanger because they LOVE her work. So rather than call it genocide, they made the word sound softer. "Eugenics". Sounds scientific. It's the same barbary that Mengele was doing. The left love them some mass murder to escape responsibility/inconvenience.

Not saying you are saying this, but, that doesn't excuse wholesale elimination of anything that didn't go your way, especially a life.

When you have Downs in your life day in and day out, you see it more than people who don’t pay attention to it. It’s a nuance I can understand why you don’t pick up on.

The article says they don’t even have to get the screening, much less choose abortion.

And this should be the goal of government assistance. Not to give welfare to the typical welfare recipients who will never get off of it. I'm 100% for removing welfare benefits to all able bodied and setting up assisted living for those with legitimate disabilities. Not the typical government leach trash that is prevalent in this country.

There is a few serial downvoters that aren't brave enough to make the comments that will ultimately have them destroyed here and expose their ugliness.

ETA: to the downvoters in this thread, and you know you are vile inside and out which is why you aren't posting. How brave.
