No social security card is going to save him if so. He gets to return to his motherland soon.

Trump is on pace to have the most H-1B approvals of any president, more than Obama and Biden. Mass round ups of illegals doesn't change that. That is a vastly bigger issue to address.

and for the record frick trump on this. frick elon too on this one. and i support the frick out of both of them, but not on this.

umm no frick that and frick them on this.

Congress has failed us on this. They have the authority over H1-B visas. Too bad we can't call someone like Kennedy Forgorn Leghorn to do something other than make cute little quips on podcasts and go nowhere congressional hearings.

I agree. He talks about Americans needing to have more kids, yet gives away good-paying jobs to Indians

Indians for sure, like 70-75%, but it has a pretty small # of Muslims. China is next I think around 10-12%. Islam dominated countries like Pakistan and Iran add up to around 1%.

I think it needs to be cut WAY down as well, though. Something like 25% of it's current size.

From what I can see, he looks Hispanic and goes by the name Anderson (not posting the pic of a HS kid in case it is the wrong person). Saw several posts with people protesting while flying the Honduran flag, but they could be their country.

One of the comments I saw made me laugh. One guys posted:
quote:

There’s more to the story plain and simple. If he didn’t have it but said hey it’s at home they would ask if there is someone you can call to bring it they wouldn’t just throw you in jail especially if you have a real id

2nd response:
quote:

Wrong. They never just say call someone to bring it. No, they (usually 4 to 1) take your phone and personal effects, and typically violently throw you to the ground with a knee against your neck and handcuff you. Then, yes, they just throw you in jail unless they cause your death first, like the 26 year old in Maine, the father in TX, and the tourist in FL who died being pursued by ICE just during these last several days. I guess the ones that live to go to jail are the lucky ones.

Trump tried to slow down H1B with a $100K fee, but a liberal judge stopped it.

Congress has the exclusive authority to completely eliminate or permanently halt the H-1B visa program. Not the POTUS

The DOL can deny labor certs, and DHS can deny applications. Both are under executive control.

You can look at it either way especially since FL is trying to eliminate property taxes.

You don't include things like sales tax in this calculus or other taxes they pay when working legally, which many are, that they don't receive back any benefit from (they shouldn't, and I very much applaud Trump's effort to crackdown on benefit fraud and deny residency and citizenship to those who took benefits).

frick elon on this and congress needs to pass a law on this that minimum salary for h1B is $1,000,000 that away it stops this shite. if the indian or whatever is an engineer that is so much better than everyone in america...then they are worth that.

I love elon but would tell him to his face he is an absolute dumbass on this topic and frick him on this and he is a traitor to this country on that end

im sorry but Trump should have stuck to his guns on H1B and put pressure on Elon on this. He caved to elon and he should not have

ok well need to cut it down to 5% of current and min salary of 1 million so its legit AF people coming

get rid of 90% that are here

stop all immigration no matter what from Muslim countries for period of 15 years

stop all immigration for period of 8-10 years. no exceptions other than legit H1B under the rules I laid out above and H1A farm workers

and zero and i mean zero grants or gov loans for 2 generations of current immigrants. period.

and all foreign aide ends, all of it for a period of 5 years.

Oh, they can? Too bad for this narrative that a liberal court struck again...

FYI, they are at least prioritizing higher-paying, more skilled jobs and trying to eliminate companies bringing an H1B just to act as a cashier.

Mexico receives $64 billion per year in remittances from immigrants in the USA, and India receives over $120 billion per year. That is a huge wealth transfer that the minuscule amount of sales tax they pay could ever make up for.

Trump's actual legislation -- not words -- often simply aligns with whatever increases profits for the largest corporations.

Nothing wrong with that in theory but in practice it's exactly what created the ever shrinking good-paying jobs for Americans in the first place.

Taxing remittances is a good idea, a functioning Congress should make that happen. Alas here we are with many common sense things (SAVE Act) not being done because we don't have a functioning Congress.

Biden let them in by the masses, so its fine and dandy to deport them by the same masses.

I’m kind of surprised we don’t have a way to quickly resolve issues with the detainment process. We have a high schooler that had their Real ID on them. He wasn’t carrying his social security card on him but it was given to officials within hours of being detained. He and his family are here legally and there is no evidence they missed any hearings or meetings. What are your thoughts on this situation? I also wonder how often this happens since it doesn’t make the actual news.

People here legally should be easily verified and immediately released. End of story.

Taxing remittances is a good idea,

The State Bank of India has 12 locations in the USA and a new one opening soon in Frisco. It allows Indians to send remittances with zero fees.

Not only are the remittances not taxed, but they also send them for free.

It's the true wealth transfer of our time. Not billionaires building companies like the left claims.
