Mexico receives $64 billion per year in remittances from immigrants in the USA, and India receives over $120 billion per year. That is a huge wealth transfer that the minuscule amount of sales tax they pay could ever make up for.
100% this should stop. pretty much all money sent to mexico and south america should be ended now
only thing is, they will just switch to a crypto but at least you could seize that

FYI, they are at least prioritizing higher-paying, more skilled jobs and trying to eliminate companies bringing an H1B just to act as a cashier.
this is prolly my biggest thing with H1B
literally every gas station in LC feels like a foreign land for the most part
but i am for making H1B way way more stringent even in the professional realm mainly because the fricking indians and their bullshite practices.
in fact I would be for banning all H1B from india.

Nothing wrong with that in theory but in practice it's exactly what created the ever shrinking good-paying jobs for Americans in the first place.
not even close to true. but whatever

Aren't a lot of these claims being revoked?
Not in any large number that I am aware of, OP and whoever he got his info from is probably wrong. The kid and his family probably applied for asylum and had a pending case. They can revoke but it would require something like the commission of a particular serious crime or travel back to his home country or fraud. A difference in opinion of if asylum should be granted or not isn't fraud.
Very common situation: Family comes in 2021-2024, turns self in at the border claiming a fear, since they have children they are paroled into the US, they file for asylum, 6 months later they are given a work permit and social good for 5 years (back down to 2 now), and start living a life in the US until their decision on their asylum. That family is "illegal" under the INA, but I've seen a lot of people get that situation confused with them having some status or an approved asylum.

The State Bank of India has 12 locations in the USA and a new one opening soon in Frisco. It allows Indians to send remittances with zero fees.
Not only are the remittances not taxed, but they also send them for free.
It's the true wealth transfer of our time. Not billionaires building companies like the left claims.
bro seriously this kind of shite is turning me into a racist! frick this shite. frick india.

and mass migration?

If they are from Honduras, as someone else ITT said they read, then it is fraud. You can't pass through other countries to get to the USA border seeking asylum without first asking for safety in those other countries. Lying about that is fraud.

Define mass migration. Do I support Biden levels? No. Do I support the limits that some currently on the Right want? No as well.

I said a few weeks ago that I am pretty much a one-issue voter now, and that issue is stopping any and all immigration. I also said there is no group I currently despise more than Indians because there is nothing about their culture that aligns with the USA, and they fail to assimilate.
I welcome you to the club.
BTW, there is a huge trend on TikTok talking about people refusing to do business with Indians because they all want to try to negotiate prices if they are the buyer but charge full price if they are the seller. The backlash against Indians is growing and will get bigger IMO. Especially as young people can't find jobs.

That is not the law, and Trump 1.0 tried to make it a bar and was struck down. A permanent offer of residency in a third country is a bar or the current ACA agreements can be a bar as well, but that is a different legal theory than any transit bar.

We should shut it all down for 10 years, then revisit if we are better or worse off without migrants.

I'm kind of torn. No one wants to see a grandma who's been here for decades deported. Or a kid who has no memory of another country. BUT...once you start making exceptions and excuses you negate the whole lawful immigration and deportation system. Since it's been that way for many years illegals knew there were no repercussions to breaking the law. Now they know. And the best way to keep that grandma and kid from being deported is to keep them from coming here illegally in the first place.

if i was in the DFW area I prolly would be worse
h1b and immigration is pretty much my only issues I voted on last time and prolly all i will going forward for a while at least.

quote:Absolutely. I would think ICE would be able to figure this out rather quickly. I can understand the detainment, and I understand needing to provide the documentation which they have. I would hope the judge (I’m assuming he’ll see one) acts quickly with all the facts.
My thoughts are that I would want to see all of the pertinent facts before jumping to a finalized conclusion. Not saying ICE is right or the kid and his family are right but I've seen far too many cases where people jump to a conclusion only for the facts to be a bit different when they all come out.
also understand erring on the side of caution, so I personally have no problem with the detention. If, and I say if, no laws were broken, no appointments missed, etc., then I hope it’s resolved extremely quickly. I found it interesting that a heavily Republican Mayor of Monroe is reaching out to government agencies to try to get this resolved. The kid is from West Monroe.

I am intimately familiar with them, and those regulations were ordered vacated on June 3. Like I said, attempts at it have been shut down. CLP bar was actually much broader and restrictive than just transiting through a third country. It was mostly a denial for people who surrendered at the border without a CBPOne appointment.

So, we are just assuming that illegals will tell the truth when/if their asylum has been revoked?

I question the validity of the source. She has flat out lied in other stories, mainly about a good friend's wife. She trusts the source as 100% true because she wants likes and views. Labels herself a "community watch dog". If what she is reporting is true, it's a massive misuse of force and the kid should NEVER have been taken into custody.
