I suspect within 5 years they will have less than 130 people working on Poydras.

It's been a while since I've been out there, but at one time, they were going to close the big concourse, renovate it and then close the 2 small concourses completely. I know they closed concourse B, but not sure if they've started renovations or what. Heck, they might even be through for all I know. Doubt it, though.

And... do you still need to call yourself an international airport if you don't have international flights?

US Bank and Fifth Third have targeted Louisiana so this won't be the last of the consolidation taking place in Louisiana.

I just expect that Louisiana will never get its act together and that JBE would let IberiaBank walk away without aggressively recruiting them.

What, this is a merger, not a full on relocation, happens every day in every business. Frankly one of the reasons we sucks is because politicians get involved in these type of deals that are all about the market and make stupid promises that cost us all money.

You can call it a merger all you want, but one bank is compensating the other, and the bank that is receiving compensation is losing its name and taking the name of the payer, and the headquarters are moving to TN.

That’s an acquisition baw

Ellick is designated an international airport to process troops in and out of Fort Polk from overseas.

"The move enables the combined bank to invest in technology and merge back office functions.

The companies project to save $170 million as a result of the acquisition about 50% of which stem from staffing efficiencies and overhead redundancy but also branches which overlap in some markets.

Iberia Bank had more than 3,100 employees as of Sept. 30 whereas First Horizon has more than 5,500 employees."

Sounds like a lot of jobs will be lost here in Louisiana.

In the process of tearing down B. Concourses A and C suck big time. Was just there last Wednesday and I'm flying to DFW and back this week. MEM is pretty terrible but its super easy to get in and out of and security is a breeze with Pre-Check.

Come on...that once weekly flight to Cancun is a robust international presence.

But New Orleans has a prettier airport than Memphis although accessing the Memphis airport is easier.

I think Memphis is renovating.

Neither MSY nor MEM will be a passenger airline hub for a long time, if ever again.

Succesful banks become acquisition targets. The board members at Iberia are popping champagne corks.
