Ian seems to be crawwwwwlllinng right now. If that holds, it just continues to build up surge, keeps pushing that water up. And obviously, massive amounts of rain. If Ian sits a while, the flooding will be devastating in those areas.

This is also interesting. These guys 100% during emergency activations have direct communications with the NHC. So they're likely being told it's a Cat 5, even though the news doesn't have it officially.

But why? You know how hard it is to replace those boats right now? We just bought one from a dealership in Florida and paid to have it delivered to Texas. We couldn’t find what we wanted any closer.

My sister (the one in Pinellas Co) stayed during Ivan (low Cat 3) - our roof almost was lifted -but she is still riding this one out too

Bradenton getting some bigger gusts now. I think I just got a couple that looked over 70 or so. Sustaining around 40 but its starting to gusts.

Armageddon here starts at 12:00 and goes to midnight

This is the reason for the upgrade in storm surge predictions. We are watching a catastrophic event unfold.
