That's what was loaded in the MCH trailer I believe - pics all over the net with it. All I know is that damn truck trailer was probably at 79,950 lbs and had no chance in that situation. Hopefully nobody was seriously injured.

Heading in to BR from Lafayette. Is traffic bad around the wreck? Is eastbound full of rubberneckers???

I-110 an I-10 still look pretty bad going toward either of the bridges.

Airline would be an alternate route for times like these but it has two at-grade rail road crossings in Baton Rouge alone and is still only 4 lanes most of the way...so it doesn't really move very well even under normal circumstances. They really need to upgrade that highway badly.

I lied earlier. It is pretty much walking speed traffic.

For a city its size, I can't imagine there is anywhere else really close to as big a clusterfrick as BR is, traffic-wise.

Today the bridge improvement alone would probably cost around $450 million.

Got any suggestions as to where that money could be found? Currently, that is about 4 years of the State's "budget" for bridge construction or rehabilitation. I'm sure the rest of the State's population are more than willing to sit back for that long without any improvements in their area.

Do you not think she pulled over to the side?? If I thought I'd been hit I'd pull over to the shoulder. No??

Well the project would take quite some time. The bridge alone probably about 3 to 4 years. So that cost would be spread out. I think the entirety of a loop with bridge improvements would be over $1 billion. And 10 years to complete.

Unless they do like they did I49 corridor, and let it out to multiple contractors.

You're asking for logic from a female baton rouge driver.
