The other night, I got off the freeway. As i was coming around the curve on the exit ramp, I saw some woman running in my direction along the shoulder.
Apparently, she was running away from some guy who was running after her. His car was about 200 feet away, so she must have gotten out the car and left (at least that's how I perceived it).

She started looking at me and waved me down, and the car behind me. I slowed down, looked out the passenger window and hit the gas.

I told a few people about this earlier and got shamed on some "Why didn't you help her" propoganda.

I wasn't getting involved in that ish. Don't know what people are capable of. Hell with that.

You could have at least called 911 while you kept driving

It makes me really sad that this is what we’ve become as a society. There was a time that no question, every one of us would have helped.

Seen a woman walking her kids from Section 8 houses on the side of 288. My drunk wife wanted me to give them a lift cause it was cold outside.

I didnt want to get involved cause I felt it was a setup.

It’s all because you can’t trust people anymore. People will deceive you all day long. People have just gotten worse as a society

Saw a dude beating the shite out of his woman years ago just off Bourbon Street. Two baws went over to stop it and as soon as they took hold of the guy the woman was on their backs biting and scratching them to defend “her man”. Made mental note that night to not get involved in domestics.

If you get involved in a domestic/family dispute. You usually end of with both or all of them trying to kick your arse.

Driving back from an LSU game one night I saw a woman walking along I49 between Bunkie and Ellick wearing what looked like a fairly nice dress. It was about 1 AM. No cars parked on the side of the road anywhere around and she wasn't trying to flag anybody down. We were already past her before it registered in my brain. I checked the news for A few days and there weren't any reports, so I guess she got where she was going.

Domestics are the most dangerous for law enforcement and they are trained and armed. I can’t say what I would have done in your place and don’t blame you for choosing what you did. At the very least I may have found a place to observe and assess what I was witnessing to have a better idea.

Even law enforcement hates getting into domestics. You made the right call.

Oh stfu, if OP was worried about it being some sort of trap and getting robbed then people have had to worry about that for all of recorded history. There's a pretty famous bible story about a guy getting robbed and beaten on the side of a road, the Good Samaritan, maybe you've heard it before

So you didn't help a woman who was running down the highway away from a possible murderer/rapist? Do you want us to buy you a beer?

I once made the mistake of giving someone a ride that I shouldn't have. Happened about 15 years ago at the Shell station on McArthur in Ellick. It was about 1am and I wanted a soda, so went there as it was about a block from my house.

I am getting back into my car when an attractive white mid-20s women asks me if I could help by giving her a ride to her home. I felt bad for her so thought I should be a nice guy so said sure, but was immediately alarmed because her home was over in bad area of town. On the way she volunteers she will give me a BJ if I help her out. I decline and make up the excuse I only have $7 on me. She explains she gives a mean BJ for $7 which made me chuckle to myself, but I again declined.

We get to the street where her home is on and she wants me to get out of the car and go behind some trees with her so she can earn her $7, which I again decline. At this point, I am annoyed and tell her she needs to get out of my car. Her street was a culdesac so I had to drive to the end and circle back around to leave. As I circle I see she is standing amongst about 10 black guys talking. As I drove by I realized it was a set up and her plan with the guys was to rob/beat up guys who happened to get sucked into her story.

I decided again to never let another stranger in my car.
