I was at Fort Sill and invited one of my buddies, an AZ grad, over to watch the game. He had been talking shite about their basketball program for the previous four years that I served with him. Needless to say he left at halftime! Three years later we attended the LSU vz AZ game together in Tucson which he was hoping would be his revenge game. Now we have their baseball coach! He no longer talks shite about LSU athletics.

I was listening to the other end of the phone conversation when Gary Plauche Shot Jeff Doucet. That's right, he wasn't faking, he was actually talking to someone on the phone.
I didn't realize the impact at the time. Pretty interesting though.

Although I was 10 miles away, I felt the shock wave.
Also, when I got home from work, my neighbor, who was a postal inspector, was dressed in SWAT gear. They had evidence stored in the building, and he had to go stand guard over it.
Also knew a couple of people who were killed in it, and some firemen that were part of the recovery effort.

I do remember where I was when I found out he died. I was at work, sitting in my cubicle doing something on my computer, and the guy sitting next to me got off his phone and said "My wife just told me that SRV died in a helicopter crash in Wisconsin." He was from Wisconsin. His wife heard about if from a family member.

When Robert Royal caught TD in 1st OT game in Tiger Stadium for the win over Tennessee in Saban’s 1st season - that many believed was watershed moment for football program.
Had A&M friend with me in student section (neither of us were students at the time). His 1st taste of TS was off the chain.
