The video shows the police officer blatantly lying that he requested ID from the guy, and that was the reason for escalation. He explicitly states that was why it got as wild as it did. They asked him his name, which he gave, in the first minute of their interaction, the rest was essentially a overreaction to the situation at hand by the police officer.

All of this.

Now I am out because this is obviously just a Lunch Box arguing bullshite thread.

the later lie has little to nuffin to do with how the first 2 minutes went. The officers did not want this guy in the vehicle and has justiable reason for that.

BTW I watched all 3 videos from the time they were in the squad car until the time Patrick was put on the trunk of the squad car. Give me time stamps of pertinent video that was edited out in that timeframe. Thanks. Shouldn't be too hard.

Cops were dick faces but the kid didn't do himself any favors by his attitude. I'm sure it's hell being a cop serving warrants in neighborhoods where most people are criminals and uncooperative toward police. I'm sure it's hell being a black kid who is automatically presumed to be guilty of something whether they are or not. So many cops shouldn't be dick faces. So many blacks shouldn't be criminals. The end

Don't lie, if your grandmother was walking down the street and the cops asked her for her name, and she replied "Huh?", you'd be ok if they took her down for non-compliance.

Before any altercation of any kind, Patrick said his name was Patrick. The police may not have liked how he said it, but it was said and it was the truth. They thought he was lying and they were wrong. The problems stem from there, period.

Thats fricked up - totally wrong on the cops and I usually side with the cops in these things. I mean he could have immediately said i'm Patrick so and so... but i can understand being like what the frick is going on having three cops on you.

And then once he said "I'm Patrick" the cops should have asked for his ID calmly and de-escalated the situation.

Yep. frick those three cops. They handled the entire situation incorrectly from the opening question. I would be confused as hell if I just came from a parole officer and three cops showed up screaming at me. I side with cops in about 95% of these situations but you could see the kid was really confused. The lying at the end about asking for an ID will really hammer it home and the fact they tased him will land him a nice check.

I'm as white, educated, and upper middle class as you can get and I've been fricked over by the police twice. Once in a mistaken identity situation like this. its not a race issue, it's a who can you hire for $40k to put their life on the line issue. The answer is morons.
