The kid responded terribly..........but imo the shitty job done by the officers outweighs this. It should have been this....easily

Cops: Who are you?
Kid: Patrick
Cops: Do you have ID?
Kid: Yup
Cops: Ah, okay have a good one. Bye.

I would when they started to threaten me, but at first? Hell no I would argue with them

He was clearly scared and confused.

He said his name was Patrick.

Why didn't they just ask for him to prove it?

They claim they did, yet you see them ask him who he is and you see all that unfolds.. They never asked him after he said his name was Patrick.

They could have asked for his social security number.. and called it in and at least start the process of identifying someone BEFORE they arrest them.

My goodness man.

Doubtful. And I love how they said "if he was in college, he'd have to drop out."

If I were in the cops shoes, I'd think he was lying with how he said his name. He also wasn't cooperating.

The cops should've asked to see his id.

Both parties made mistakes. But I hope the da doesn't follow through with charges. That's not worth running someone's life over.

I get it, cops are assholes, but so was this guy. shite like this will continue to happen because cops don't trust people and people don't trust cops.

Then you can get the same treatment. And I think you're full of it BTW.

Right, and if he had seen the warrant he could have easily pointed out it wasn't him.. then provided a way to verify who he was.. such an an I.D. or have his PO show up or give his social with date of birth..

You think that would of changed anything? The cops found a black guy they weren't leaving until they got their rocks off

I'm sorry that I'm not going to be 100% compliant if a cop walks into my yard and asks me my name and then tries to arrest me without telling me

I've argued with cops plenty

No, I'm looking at this exact case. He did exactly what I said he did.

Yea, he was scared shitless and felt harassed. He obviously didn't want to go to jail fro something he didn't do. GOD FORBID.

He did more than that, but OK.

He certainly could have handled it better but you're saying he deserved to be tased. All they had to do was show the warrant, ask the kid for some ID, and this whole thing wouldn't have escalated.

But of course, you take the police's side in every case. You're frickin' miserable dude.

yes, it's good to comply.. but he's imagine police showing up to arrest you and you have no idea what the hell is even going on

they wanted him to get out the car to arrest him for something he has absolutely nothing to do with.

that's awful

Patrick wasn't obeying officers commands, he was in a car and fiddling around. lucky he wasn't shot tbh. You get told what to do, comply, officers would have eventually have figured the shite out.

So why be hostile? Seems like that would have the opposite effect.

no, I said he brought it on himself. I didn't say deserve anywhere.

Wrong, but facts never seem to matter to you.
