Yea, I'd only quote one post and not all the other ones if I was trying to make a point too. Nice to see you ignored the Philando one as well. Since I "always" agree with the cops.

They should have just let it go down like this and it really doesn't seem to hard to grasp in training.

cop: What's your name

Patrick: why are you asking

cop: i'm going to ask you one more time

Patrick: ummmmm...Patrick

cop: instead of saying "arrest him" how about "ok Patrick we have a warrant for XXXX at this address that fits your description can you show us some identification"

possibly but the cops are still going to secure situation first.

he was sitting in a car on the passenger side. With 2 cops standing over him. The situation was secured. All they had to do was request ID and provide the warrant. Instead they wanted to be the enforcers in the situation.

Ignore the fact this is the address and he fits the description. We got the wrong criminal.

Ignore the fact that the officer lied about asking for I.D. multiple times and how it's on his cam.. when it's not.. and he knows deep down it's not and he doesn't even write it in his report.

Seriously, you don't always have to take the police for gospel.. They are humans.. they make mistakes.. it's okay to acknowledge this. It doesn't mean you hate the police..

They know they messed up. You can tell from the officer's remarks afterwards.

Not everybody has I.D. they could have asked for his social and D.O.B to start then they could have let him call his PO

It's a beautiful thing when civilians work with police, but it's it's better when both sides are working together. Police often assume people are just lying to them. At least give them a chance. At least just show the freaking warrant. Or say who you are there to arrest.

If they had said they were here to arrest Michael or shown the warrant.. He wouldn't have been so confused.. and he could have said more about how he is not Michael..

I think if police are going to arrest on warrants they should produce it to avoid this very thing!

I didn't go to the academy but I feel like this is probably straight out of a manual.

You should know that this reasonable, basic level, non violent line of thinking will not fly on the OT.

I don't think a single person supported that guy or claimed ge was innocent. You and some other dumbfrick just came out and said Smith was gunned down in cold blooded first degree murder for no reason. Then you two had to constantly edit your narrative as virtually every assumption you made was shown to be false.

How could I off the video? But I did say it looked very bad, and I still maintain that and haven't once defended that shooting because it is very bad.

But I'm sure that's not good enough for yall.

NEWS FLASH..

If they cops tell you to put your hands on the car. Put your hands on the car. If he would have listened he could have then told them check my id while his hands where on the car and the situation would have never happened.

This is why the shite gets escalated. Listen to the damn cops. How hard is that to comprehend.

No one handled it well. The kid, the cops, whoever put together the captioning on that video and wrote the article. It's all shite.

alright guys this guy says his name is Patrick but who cares lets arrest him without verifying that he isn't Patrick

They were trying to get him out of the car and probably cuff him for his safety and theirs. At that point, he could have retrieved his id and the cuffs would be taken off and everyone could go about their day.

It didn't happen that way because he chose to make the confrontation a tense one.

please provide one post where you blamed the police. besides, the kid didn't deserved to be tased. because that's plainly obvious to anyone with a functioning brain.

I have 2 questions for you:

1- Are you or someone in your family a cop?
2- Do you think these officers should be reprimanded?

Keep in mind they lied multiple times about asking for his ID.

TIA

they asked the kid to turn around and put hands on car; he retreated into vehicle to evade cops and non-complied with about 6 requests and threats to get out of vehicle.

People lie to them. Just like people assume a cop is dirty because some are.

I've stated multiple times that both civilians and police don't trust each other.

How do we fix it? Can't be on the police force to fix everything.

Plus, people fake their identity a lot. It's actually and increasing problem around the globe.

So maybe citizens should stop doing criminal activities and we won't need the fricking police.
