I normally eat 93% lean ground beef. Which has lower fat 93% lean ground beef or 93% lean ground turkey?
Can't trap me bro. They are the same. I said generally turkey is sold at a leaner percent.

Good ground turkey isn't much cheaper. I don't eat beef, though, so maybe I'm wrong
You are. Not sure of the OP's budget but if you are OT poor like me.
the 3 lb tube of ground beef at Walmart is $3 more than the Jenni-O 3lb tube of ground turkey and a LOT less fat.
You do need to learn how to handle turkey at first though. You'll end up with dry arse play-dough burgers.

dont do this.... if you trick your body into thinking it is starving, it will go into starvation mode and store your calories as fat not knowing when its next meal will be.
I used to think this too but it will not happen with only a 24 hour fast. Doing a fast once or twice a week is a great way to help with weight loss and overall health. It really helps you learn to control appetite as well.

go find a crossfit gym. ask one of the coaches the best way to eat. It will change your life.
If you're asking here you arent serious about it.

One of my issues is I work nightshift. Plant work. I don't eat at work so I get home and eat then I'm sleepy been up all night working. Fall asleep right after I just ate. This happens everyday. It's not good.

So exercise more important than diet?
Proper diet and no exercise = weight loss
Proper exercise and shitty diet = still fat
Combine both and the weight will fall off dramatically.

After one day? Lulz. Let me guess...5-6 small meals a day to keep your metabolism firing...

I've done intermediate fasting and just fasting one day a week for 24 hours. Both a great. I really liked doing the intermediate fasting where i ate my first meal at noon after a workout. My workouts weren't hurt at all, surprisingly, and i felt my metabolism crushed that noon meal. I only at from 12-6/7

Dude. Don't even pretend that you don't know what foods are unhealthy. Everyone has a good idea we just fail to put it into action. Cut down on the carbs unless you're exercising.

you need to start eating during work hours. Bring a healthy snack or a full meal to pick on. If you're going a full shift without eating(lets face it, you're prob raping the vending machine), and you go home hungry, eat, and go straight to bed, that's not the best thing in the world.

For sure. He's probably exhausted at work because he's not eating then he gets home, eats a large meal and his blood sugar probably plummets and he falls asleep.

I didn't have chance to read all of the responses to see if anyone said this... but here is my advice:
From easiest to hardest:
1. Drink a full glass of water before every meal. If you can't do this, you just don't care enough. (This will also help you ensure that you don't cramp up for the additional exercise you need to do.)
"Researchers from the University of Birmingham have revealed that drinking 16.9 ounces of water before every meal can help people suffering from obesity to lose weight.... The group that drank water before their meals lost an average of 9.48 pounds in 12 weeks, an average of 2.87 pounds more than the control group."
News article talking about a medical study.
2. Soft drinks are the same as eating a dessert without all fun. Give them ALL up. Regular/Diet everything. Cut the creamer out of your coffee. (Those powder creamers are awful.. check out how the actually explosive on youtube). Buy lemon juice and drink lemon water.
3. Move. and everyday move more than the previous day. Consider getting a FitBit or the new microsoft Band if you can afford it. Your goal is to ensure that you do more than the previous day. Hold yourself accountable.
4. After you've done that... you should get more advice on how to step up the workouts etc.

Notice I said "GOOD ground turkey"

Don't listen to all the carb talk. You will never stick with a no carb diet long term.
Here is a study to show that cutting carbs is not that helpful.

You can find 99% lean ground turkey at most stores but the lowest I have ever seen ground beef is 93%.
My point was most people just automatically think turkey is lower in fat and calories and end up picking of 80/20 turkey and think they are doing something.

How are you able to work an entire shift and not be hungry? Wouldn't that affect your job performance, not eating? Can't you bring some small healthy snacks with you? I always bring protein bars(ones without a ton of sugar or calories in them) with me to work so if I get too busy to eat I can always eat one of those real quick. Keeps me from getting so hungry that I cave and go get horrible food from the cafeteria or vending machine.

the problem with that study is the "low fat" diet (in america today) is essentially a high sugar diet. When you take the fat out of foods, it tasts like shite, so the manufacturers pump it full of sugars to make the food taste better.
