We just picked up an english bulldog pup. Sweet little thing but I swear it shits more than any dog i have ever owned.
Check the food you have it on. You are probably feeding it something that its allergic to. Does it have chicken in it? Most EBD are allergic to chicken

Except she won't stay off the bed. Bitch waits until I go to sleep and every morning I wake up and she's lying an inch from my face
That's funny. Mine is the same way. He'll start out on his bed but every single morning I wake up with him curled around my head on the pillow.
Im looking to get another. Have a red Merle and I want to add a blue.

Shelties are very loyal, and extremely smart.
I will have no other dog.

I have a Boston Terrier that is very loyal.. Dude won't me out of his sight. I shower he lays on the bath rug. I go outside he sits and the waiting on my to come back.
Friend of mine just had to put one of her dogs down yesterday. I don't know if I'm going to be able to handle that day. Was tough hearing her tell the story.

I've got a B&T and a Redbone. Both great and very loyal. They just need a lot of exercise.

I had several Dachshunds and Basset Hounds over the years. But I got my first Black and Tan back in '94. And she lived a good, long life. Initially, when she was a pup, I didn't really know what to expect but I ended up loving that hound so much that I had to get another one when she died. I'm sold on them.

Any experience with the Black and Tan around infants? Got a little one on the way and slightly worried about that.

Vizsla - Ideally you'll have a lot of room for them to run around.

Shelties are ... extremely smart.
Out of purebreds that I have been around, I kige this. I had a buddy whose Sheltie had a solid vocabulary of 100 or so words. With the same inflection, knew the difference between at least a dozen toys. Border Collies and Shelties have to be way, way up there on the scale of usable intelligence.
My GSD was a great problem solver, but I didn't work with him enough. He had a good vocabulary, but not like a BC or Sheltie.

Mine have been as gentle and loving as they can be. However, with any dog or child, it is always good idea to keep a close eye on them and teach the child some basic rules and etiquette because children sometimes tend to not know how (and how not) to behave around dogs. For instance, don't mess with a dog when they are eating, etc.
When I was a kid, I learned these lessons the hard way by getting bit.
With infants, I never had any problem. None at all. My first B&T intuitively accepted the children as part of the family and was very protective of them both. She would even check on them in their crib. And she seemed to intuitively know she was subordinate in "pack order". She was great. And I think every kid in the neighborhood loved that hound. But it is always wise to be vigilant with any dog.
