That was a hydraulic saw. They are quiet and super badass but not electric.

Hydraulic saws
For when you have the time for things to break and need fixing and the government or company will pay to fix it.

I have a 250 18” sthil that I’m satisfied with. I also have a 22” sthil electric that was my Dad’s. It’s so old it was made in west Germany but it is a mule. No safety features at all

Stihl or Husqvarna... Echo if you want decent, but easier on the budget.

Well... Wtf are you cutting down?

Echo
Still was, but now a lot of them are made in CHYNA.

I go Stihl MS 193 T and use their motomix fuel. Cranks after sitting idle for a year.

Stihl. Just picked up a 391 to replace my 311 that a friend burned up the bearings on.

Just a basic Stihl MS170 is all you need as a homeowner. I have 1.5 acres with 60+ year old cherry and maple trees and there is nothing that my MS170 hasn’t been able to handle.
It starts every time and is light which reduces fatigue and that translates into increased safety.
Also recommend an electric pole saw they are great too SEARS makes a good one.
Edit: I would also add that technique is usually more important than size/power of the chainsaw. Most people are ignorant of proper cutting technique and safety principles.

Get some chaps and whatever saw floats your boat

Everyone saying Stihl. I have a chainsaw and a blower. Both temperamental as frick.
My Husquavarna weed eater starts easily every time.
I'll probably never buy another stihl.
meh, ran many of both brands. Never had a problem with either. I find its generally operator error or bad fuel mix. My preference is with stihl for the large saws.

they are only as good as their chain. if the chain is sharp, they are all good. if not........they suck.
Posted on 10/31/20 at 7:10 am to toratiger
They all suck especially if you don’t use them regularly.
In saying that I have a Stihl and it probably sucks less than most other brands.

Don’t buy anything but a Stihl

Stihl 036 PRO.... swap the stock bar down from 36 to 24 inches and she will eat absolutely anything.
Can't say enough good things about Stihl branded sawstop chaps...... I'm still walking because of them. (I used to cut 18 cords of hardwood every year to heat the house way up north)
