Leatherface? Is that you?
Posted on 10/30/20 at 9:36 pm to toratiger
What will you be doing with it?

Stihl MS500i, buy once cry once.
Cry more when your wife finds out how much you spent...
I have a Stihl 025 (MS250 today) and a MS391. Both excellent saws that have no problems starting.

OP has given literally zero information on what they need in a chain saw and thus this is worthless.
I do know I clear out a shite ton of trees/branches and crap year round in a heavily treed area around a very large commercial building on a few acres I own using either a cheap arse Ryobi 18v or 40v electric chainsaw with ease. Life is ten times easier than bothering with any kind of gas chainsaw I have ever used.
Unless OP is doing commercial work which I doubt since he is asking here, get with the year 2020 bro. Gas powered chainsaws are for fudds.

Funny you say that
We had Entergy subs trimming trees down my street the past couple weeks and the guy up in the bucket truck was using a quiet electric pole saw. I watched them for a while and he was getting shite done. I was impressed

I have used the 40v Ryobi pole saw to death and back
Its like crazy fricking long
And it works
And I dont have to bother with anything but bar oil
Just a do it yourself business owner here. But shite, it works man.

40 volt pole saw and chainsaw from Harbor Freight and I love them.

I used an EGO 18" today to clear the roads. Early Christmas gift from my wife. Did the job.
Would not use it for lumberjacking. But for occasional use, batteries cannot be beat.

I’ve used many chainsaws over my 68 years. Husqvarna is my favorite but Stihl and Echo are also very good. Stick with orange and you will be fine.

I agree. That’s the saw I bought after Katrina. Still going strong

That’s practical if you’re trimming around your house or from a bucket truck but doesn’t really work well in the middle of the woods working on food plots or riding trials, or wherever you don’t have electricity, however, it was pretty cool watching that guy go to town on those branches
I’m a chainsaw and pole saw freak so I appreciate that shite
