i shopped chainsaws last month and decided Stihl or Husqvarna. The Husqvarna was slightly lighter, had more hp and was a few bucks cheaper. 18" bar for $300.
cheaper that, stihl is a better saw, according to the husqvarna salesman.
my previous Husqvarna lasted through 16 years of being treated like a home depot rental.

Probably Stihl. I have the MS250 16". Poulan not bad. Chainsaw carbs are just prone to fouling if you don't get them ready for non-use. Stihl is no different.
I got tired of messing with gas around the house and bought a 16" Torx electric to use here. Power it on the back of our property (2 acres) with a small Honda generator. That sonofabitch always starts.
Deer lease I break out the Stihl.

Use ethanol free gas or drain your tank after each use and it won’t give you as many problems, I bought 2 at garage sells that only needed the fuel lines and bulbs replaced . $ 10 each like new

Echo. Just as good as the high priced Stihl

Get some chaps too. Chainsaw injuries are devastating.

If your like most and not using it a whole lot , I bought a Poulon pro and used it to cut up midsized downed trees into firewood and smaller jobs around the house then I may not use it again for three months. I've had it for three years, never have any issues starting it and gets the job done. I believe I paid around $150. If your really gonna work it hard Stihl

My nephew works the chainsaw for the Minnesota DNR doing forest management and he swears by Husqvarna.

Husqvarna. Stihl used to be the best, but the new ones have some issues. Husqvarna bought out Red Max a few years ago, and seriously upped their torque and build quality using Red Max tech.

Apparently, OP isn't coming back with more info.
If you need or want a prosumer or above saw then Husky are Stihl are really the only answers. Just pick the Rancher or Farm boss that meets your needs and budget.
If you look at pro arborists and timber felling companies you will see each has their favorite but overall there will be a near 50/50 split. Neither make perfect saws but overall they most make the best saws in the prosumer and pro categories. Outside that it is a Ford vs Chevy argument.
If you don't need or want this level of saw there are tons of options in both electric and gas.

I have Stihl MS 250 and MS 180. Use the 180 a lot more. I don't really use a lot of firewood and mostly use it for trimming limbs, etc.
Use the premix fuel or go ahead and buy a replacement carb of Amazon. Can usually get carb, air filter and spark plug for $12-15.
If you want to go battery, look at the Ego 56v. Have several pieces of their equipment and want to add the chainsaw.
