I don’t really know what you’re trying to reason. Maybe you should go back to my first post in the thread where I said I honestly don’t care either way and I was just playing devils advocate and offering another side. Nowhere did I say that anybody isn’t allowed to do anything on my watch.
Like BeerJeep, you sound oddly irate and I’m not sure you even know who you’re angry at or why you’re angry. Evidenced by you accusing me of things I haven’t once said.. I guess because you wish I said them so you could argue whatever it is you want to get out?

On a more serious note than my other posts, OP there are multiple reasons. I for one no longer fly it, haven’t in over 15 years. I do love my civil war history though.
1) There are people who truly don’t want their ancestors who fought forgotten. Me personally, and I’m related to one of the last Louisiana Confederate veterans to die don’t think much of that, I’ve had more relatives fight under U.S than CSA.
2) some people truly are racists
3) Some people are just really historical. I’ve got a yankee buddy who has several confederate emblems and flags in his house and backyard. He’s a civil war nut, 100s of books on it.
4) Some don’t care for the history or racism part. Some use it as a big middle finger to the govt and liberals or people who get offended easily.

Racist side of LP isn't anything like it was 25 years ago.
Meth & Opioids weren't here 25 years ago either....a ton of trash has moved in that aren't LP natives.

This is going on all over the place. People who CANNOT STAND RACISM move their kids out of black or failing schools and put them in other schools then complain how trashy the community is. Or move from up north and out west to La to get away from high taxes to podunk La and tell us are taxes aren’t high enough. Or they think b/c I talk country and work blue collar I’m racist automatically even though my kids, majority of their friends are black and stay at each other’s houses and most of my friends are black, those same frickers wouldn’t touch a black man if you paid them.
They also complain about my lack of periods in my sentences.

I don’t know OP or care to defend him. But I think it’s pretty funny how closed off from reality the minds of some people here are.
Here’s an example. When liberals bring up black incarceration rates, what do most people like you (and myself, FYI) respond with? We say, “Well, more black men commit crimes. It isn’t our fault.” And man, I totally agree with you. It’s called correlation. Being black doesn’t make someone a criminal - but there’s more black criminals by a decent margin. So that’s why more black men are incarcerated.
So when someone mentions that the confederate flag marks a racist most times, how can you have trouble understanding that? The flag doesn’t MAKE someone racist. It doesn’t possess magical powers just like being black doesn’t. But there is an association. A large % of people flying those flags loud and proud in these parts are also racist.
I didn’t see OP say they should be taken down, but I admit I might have missed it. However, I know for certain I didn’t say they should. It’s unfortunate you can’t read that.
It’s like rather than meet in the middle and understand it isn’t black or white like almost anything in life, you want to assign anyone who doesn’t share you exact thoughts with opinions and sides they don’t belong to. It isn’t always two sided, friend.

That’s what bothers me the most with all this crap. They tell you how many black friends they have as they pack up to an all white enclave. Then bitch about them being too white when they get there, but never invite all their black friends over for dinner.

I loved how they all drowned in July 2016. Bought a house in a flood area? lol, frick you.
My real estate agent tried to get me to move to LP with a 45 min commute, made her show me homes/neighborhoods closer to work. "I'm not comfortable selling you a home in this area". 6 months later, her house gets 6 feet of water, mine is high and dry. Flipped it and sold it that August for almost double what I paid to a mixed race Nurse.
