Yep...it was right next to the gas station on the corner of Greenwell Springs and Monterrey. Building is still there. I think it is now a Popeye's.

I want the two people who downvoted Aladdin’s Castle to meet me at Sonic.
Now.
Hands will be thrown.

Was comp USA the equivalent of “rite aid”? While Best Buy was Walgreens/CVS? Or was circuit city “rite aid” and comp USA “K+B drugs” (without the sweet purple pencils and liquor).

A lot of their stuff was second rate but some was pretty decent.

Did every CompUSA used to have a rocket shop thing that was set up with PCs loaded with kids games for you to play on while you parents shopped? Bc that shite was awesome

They put a 90 day warranty on their pre-recorded cassettes. That was pretty unusual.
They also had a great selection of Paramounts pre-recorded videos in beta and vhs when they came out at $40. That was awesome.

Do any of you metairie or kenner folks remember a restuarant called "the lion's den" or something of that nature. It was tucked away in the back corner of one of those shopping hubs like the laser tag and showbizz pizza was
There was the eating area (I remember eating at a taco bar they had set up in ther) and then there was a separate kid's play area, the entrance from the restuarant to the kids play area was a little crooked house you'd walk through. The play area was somewhat of a mix of chuck e chesse and the fun factory.
I can't find any of evidence of its existence anywhere but I also know I had a bday party there once. Harder to find this than the old putt-putt golf course that was on vet's

and there is nothing to replace it locally. anytime you need a connector or resistor, you have to order it and get like 200 of them. Many of projects have halted to 2-4 days because there isnt a radioshack anymore, when i could have finished them if there was.
I still went to the one in government even through college, but slowly started to have to buy shite off new egg, Amazon or mono price because they didn't have the shite I needed.
I also remember them wanting to open a RadioShack where the Chipotle is now, I had a nice laugh. College kids aren't going to go in there to buy expensive batteries.

Who remembers Howard Brothers?
I do. My wife’s grandfather built them. He owned a construction company that did all the civil and iron work on them.
