Bought my wife Speed Queen washer and dryer set
I did the same. We replaced a 15y old Samsung set 6 or 7 years ago. She loves the Speed Queens.

My ol' lady still cleans our clothing by washboard and hangs them out to dry.

They need access to shutdown your machine during the climate change lockdowns.

My parents fridge is older than me (30) and still kicking. It doesn't have any buttons up front, just cools on the left and freezes on the right. I had to replace my POS Samsung smart fridge after 2 years.

We’ve gone way too far with technology about 20 years ago, maybe more. I understand the hypocrisy in that statement as I type this on an iphone, but the iphone has absolutely ruined everything. The iphone generation, which coincides with the every fricking child gets a trophy generation are now turning into employees. They make up my workforce and I am riding on a sinking ship with no refuge in sight.
The 90’s were the sweet spot. Sony walkmans, having to call someone’s house to speak to them, or, holy frick, imagine this, becoming a solid communicator and actually planning shite in advance! Our constant accessibility has made everyone so socially awkward and have zero communication skills. I feel like I’m talking to a brick wall daily

Problem is you can’t just go pick one up at Lowe’s. You need to order them so expect to be without that washer/dryer for a few weeks.

I can turn the range hood in my house on and off with my phone. I have no idea why I would ever need to do that, but it's an included feature.
It's completely absurd.

We had ours delivered and installed the day after I paid for it from Stanton's here in beriut Rouge.
Yes the tech thing is out of control, compare a car/truck made today from one made in 1990. Do we really need side radar on a ford F-150 ?

I don’t live in the metro BR area and there are 5 rural dealers in Acadiana. I was without a washer for 4 hours. I’d imagine BR has triple that..

Subtle “my wife does all laundry” brag
Following an unfortunate accident that ruined one of my wife’s sweaters, I was barred from washing clothes. I do help her fold and put away laundry though.

Finally there’s connectivity for my washing machine!

It’s the same for dishwashers

We had the baseline Ropers for years. Anything went wrong, me and YouTube could fix. Switched to Samsung and regretted it before long. Now we are back to old school beaters.

I hate the HE washing machines. I stupidly bought one a few years ago and got rid of it two weeks later. It didn't rinse the soap out of clothes and sounded like a dying moose. I got a washing machine with an agitator and like it much better.

Bought my mom a fancy Samsung front loader. It was super efficient and played music to tell you when it was done (and it took forever to wash).
She hated it. Had to get Sears to come get it after one load and replace it with the last old-school washer they had, one with dials and an agitator. That was about 12 years ago. It's still going strong.

We had LG front loaders for about 5 years. They didn't have internet but they were absolute trash. I don't need my appliances connected to anything other than electricity.

Speed Queen is built like an old school Maytag.. you’re welcome
Thanks Napoleon!

Just buy a Speed Queen and don’t even waste the time to look at anything else.
