A dusty bowling alley, a baseball field with some wooden fences and old grandstand, abandoned buildings, a shopping mall stuck in the ‘80’s, arcades, throwback uniforms, classic cars. The list goes on.

I used to chase Cougars back in my day, but now I’m 35 with a wife 5 years younger. Aside from that, I’d be perfectly fine existing 30 years ago. Anybody else seem nostalgic about…well…everything?

I like some old things.

Exhibit A-

If there’s dust in any crevasse here, I’ll find it and dispatch it with extreme prejudice:

I was born in 1978 but for some reason anything to do with the 1970s is very appealing to me. I think I would have loved the 70s

At 50 it’s past time to trade in for a newer model. 30 is about perfect

I don’t “hate” modern things. I just have a preference for classics. I love my Alamo Drafthouse, but I’d be fine eating some 4 year old M&Ms in a regular theater.

Give me Wrigley or Fenway over Truist in Atlanta.

Give me a gas-guzzling hot rod over some electric car.

I like old things too. Old cars. Old houses. Old guns. Old whiskey.

They part I find funny about this, is that 30 years ago was 1992...when I was 22. Somehow, that just doesn't seem that long ago or like it's "olden times."

I watched that series Stranger Things, I know I am late to the party but just seeing how it wasn't that easy to get in contact with everyone. Kids going out and parents didn't always know where they were 24/7. It made me realize that made people grow up quicker than kids seem to do today.

Even growing up in the 90s... Mommy and daddy wasn't always there. I see how involved parents are today in their kids college life. My mom had absolutely no idea about what was going on with me in college. I don't think she ever saw my grades. She had no idea what classes I was taking, etc. Its good to appreciate old things and remember how things used to be.
